Will Bengi and Khan Steer Dplus KIA to LCK Success? Key Roster Changes for 2025

Back at it Again

As the offseason kicks off, there are a lot of rumors swirling around in Korea, especially concerning players from top teams like HLE, Gen.G, and KT. While nothing is set in stone yet, DK has made some significant changes to its coaching lineup by hiring Bengi as the new head coach. The team officially shared that he will be supported by coaches PoohManDu and Hachan, who bring a wealth of experience to the table as they prepare for 2025. On top of that, former T1 player Khan has been brought back as LCK adviser.

DK via social media:

“We are thrilled to introduce Head Coach Bengi (Bae Seong-woong), Coach PoohManDu (Lee Jeong-hyeon) and Coach Hachani (Ha Seung-chan) of the Dplus KIA LoL team for 2025. We look forward to seeing the glory and expertise that they has built over the years shine even brighter at Dplus KIA. Let’s give a big applause to them as they will strongly lead our players through this new phase of change.”

Veterans Turned Coaches

Bengi and PoohManDu have both been coaching some of the top Korean teams over the last few years. Bengi was with T1 for more than 6 years, taking over as head coach in 2022 after Kim “moment” Ji-hwan was let go. He parted ways with T1 in July 2023, after a successful run with the CL squad.

Meanwhile, PoohManDu has been with several teams around the world, such as Vici Gaming, Misfits Gaming, and Sengoku Gaming. He joined DWG for the 2021 season and is now returning after almost 3 years outside of the organization. Hachani has been promoted from the DK Challengers team, where he has been part of the organization since late 2020, mainly thanks to his incredible eye for young talent. Several pieces from the CL team have been promoted in recent times, including Siwoo and Lucid. Now we will have to wait and see if this bold move is the correct one for all parties involved, with the KeSpa Cup being the first tournament for this new roster.
