Currently the LCK is as competitive as it can get, which is a great opportunity for some League of Legends betting. Both teams were tied with a 4-2 record within the leaderboards of the 2022 LCK Summer Split, meaning it was a decisive series between DRX and DWG KIA.
DRX secures a clear victory
While DRX unfortunately lost in their match against T1 in the start of week three, they have finally bounced back with an upset series yesterday against DWG KIA. This should help them gain confidence as this is the first time in two years, they manage to beat DWG KIA.
The first game of this League of Legends showdown saw an unusual first pick Bel’Veth being chosen for the first time in the LCK history. But it definitely did not help DWG KIA as they failed to secure any major jungle objectives in the match, outside of one herald which was used to free up some pressure within the top lane. DRX had a stronger lineup to punish the scaling composition of DWG KIA thanks to BeryL’s Amumu constantly stun locking enemies off guard with his ultimate and Bandage Toss while Zeka’s Corki and Deft’s Kalista dealt huge poke and dps damage in teamfights. Zeka finished 5/0/10 by the time DRX exploded the nexus and secured a game one win.
DRX decided to go with a somewhat similar draft for the second game as they had in the previous one. However this time, DWG KIA picked up a more aggressive composition with several counter champions. While Nuguri’s Gwen continuously applied pressure in the side lanes to take out enemy turrets, deokdam’s Lucian was absolutely majestic to watch in the skirmishes around the map. He went 7/0/4 and simply melted any DRX champions that came close to him. DWG KIA closed the game rather quickly in their favor after getting the second Baron buff, ending DRX’s chances to come back on game two.
For the last game in the series, both teams chose balanced lineups with the usual concoction of crowd control as well as late game scaling picks. The match was fairly even until the mid game started when DRX was able to secure several map objectives, giving them an advantage over DWG KIA in the scaling department. Zeka again pushed DRX forward, as his Swain went absolutely ballistic 4/0/4 even when he played the role of DRX’s main controller in teamfights. With the help of the second Baron buff, DRX was able to demolish the opposition turrets with DWG’s base completely run over by pressure.
DRX now comfortably sits in third place on the LCK Summer Split table with a 5-2 score line. Their next match is set for July 10th at 3am CT against heavy favorites Gen.G Esports. DWG KIA falls down the pecking order to fifth place with a 4-3 record, but the lol odds lean towards them in their next encounter. They will look for revenge and some form of consistency against Hanwha Life Esports on July 9th at 6am CT.
