EliGE to focus on “changing mentality” within Complexity’s new roster
EliGE has finally switched squads
After a rather long history including an 8 year playing stint with Team Liquid, EliGE has finally switched squads on June 23rd and officially signed with North American CS GO organization Complexity. Within a recent blog, EliGE shared some of his goals for the upcoming season, ultimately stating his main goal is to “elevate expectations”.
The 25-year-old Canadian further detailed the first thing he wants to focus on with the lineup is changing the mentality to a “we can make it to the playoff stage” one, within an interview with HLTV.

It seems rather ambitious to push a squad who has recently provided underwhelming performances. However, within a Complexity vlogs video, he doubled down on his confident statement, mentioning that he wants to qualify for the Major but also push expectations higher than that.
The North American superstar will work first on the squads focus and mentality, in order to hopefully give some confidence at first, and then start climbing into top 4 finishes at Tier 1 events. He made quite clear within recent interviews that outside of the current goal there is not much he wants to focus on, mainly to not get ahead of schedule since EliGE believes there is a lot of work to be done in order to achieve their first objective.
This year, Complexity heavily struggled in Tier 1 events, unfortunately not reaching the playoffs stage a single time. Their last events were the BLAST.tv Paris CS GO Major, IEM Dallas 2023, and IEM Katowice. Sadly within all of the previous tournaments they failed to make the playoffs, with their closest instance being in Poland.

Complexity’s woes come in many forms, however their main issue continues to be inconsistency. This can come in many forms, especially the lack of mental fortitude and confidence, thus it makes sense that a veteran such as EliGE would like to focus on that section first. On paper Complexity has the talent to achieve the playoffs stage and maybe even become a darkhorse within the competition. The trio of Grim, hallzerk, and EliGE should be enough to showcase better performances in the upcoming tournaments.
The second half of the CS GO season starts on July 13th with the BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Complexity’s first opponent is Ninjas in Pyjamas, who similar to their counterpart focused on heavily changing their squad in the offseason. The competition is rumored to be one of the last for the CS GO era as Counter Strike 2 was originally set to release this Summer. Complexity has small chances to impress in CS GO, but with EliGE at the helm the community believes they can do it.
