Falcons crushed early at the Major once again
- Falcons has not been able to adjust to the new CS2 meta.
- Recent additions are not comfortable on the team yet.
- No positive results since their finals run a couple of months back.
Sadly we are back again with Falcons underperforming. It’s not the kind of situation that fans want to find their team in. Even though they were one of the favorites to win Majors this year, the Falcons kicked off their tournament journey with back to back negative results. In matches where it was win or sent back packing, the organization simply couldn’t meet the expectations they set for themselves. The recent performances of Team Falcons in tournaments are somewhat exciting to watch, you never know which facet will appear. After bringing in two of the best players in the world, this organization has stubbornly worked its way up to the top positions in Counter Strike 2 (mainly thanks to income). At one point, It seemed like their only remaining challenge was Team Vitality, the team that keept Falcons from winning several events before.
However, the first rounds of Stage 2 at the BLAST Austin Major showed a completely different outcome. Two first round losses pushed the players into the elimination zone rather early. What’s worse, Falcons didn’t lose to well known established organizations. Instead, they fell victim to two underdog stories, which must feel particularly frustrating. It is fair to say Austin was a cauldron of upsets this time around, with not only Falcons losing out but also other dominant rosters.
Despite this, hope was still alive and strong for a couple of days. To make it through this stage and the entire BLAST Major, Team Falcons managed to defeat OG in Round 3.
Everything crumbled

Going into Round 4 fans were excited to see their opponents, as they went up against Brazilian side MIBR. The Brazilians were looking great, however nobody expects them to push for a title since the Luminosity/SK Gaming days.
Nevertheless, this fixture ended up being the toughest and completely outrageous situation the Falcons roster would venture in. Most of the community was hoping for a miraculous comeback, which seemed possible given their recent performance against OG, but Falcons ended up losing 2-1 and were eliminated. The third match in the series was a back and forth affair, with a total of 42 rounds played. MIBR managed to push their aggression on Inferno, a map where both teams have found mixed success. By the end of the matchup, Falcons’ run in the Austin Major came to an end.
