FalleN reportedly signs with FURIA ahead of CS2

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, the legendary Brazilian Counter Strike player, has reportedly agreed to sign with FURIA before the launch of Counter Strike 2. The trade/buyout has been nothing but a rumor for weeks, however the organization is now sitting with Imperial Esports to talk about the terms and contract for the move.

The veteran AWPer has taken his time to study all the options but at last decided to join FURIA, according to CS journalism website Dust2.br back on June 19th. The article states FURIA has officially submitted an offer for the in-game leader, however Imperial has not responded as of the moment of writing.

Rumors mention the offer itself is less than the previously agreed buyout amount for FalleN, with the amount even being less than what Imperial paid to sign him from Team Liquid back in February of 2022. Analysts believe that FURIA will be set back until they offer an amount closer to the value imposed by Imperial Esports.

As for the player, FalleN has reportedly met with the FURIA board last week, and mentioned his desire to be a part of the squad alongside KSCERATO and yuurih. On top of that, the community believes that ArT will also remain within the main active lineup for Counter Strike 2.

FalleN is the biggest name out of the current Brazilian player shuffle with a plethora of teams looking for his signature, before the CS2 competitive cycle starts. Outside of FURIA there is one more possible contender, paiN Gaming. For the last couple of weeks paiN has been monitoring the situation closely in order to compete with FURIA’s offer.

Viewers might ask why he is such a sought after piece for the Brazilian community, well the answer is pretty simple. FalleN’s talent goes way beyond the server, as the veteran is well known for his teaching and researching abilities which going into a new game will become vital. With FalleN on your roster, the organization will be able to easily attract other important players while also nurturing newcomers to the scene that have the potential to become something special.

Of course FalleN’s possible move is not good news for everyone. If he joins FURIA, it means Rafael “saffee” Costa is the most likely candidate to be cut out of the current roster.

Some of the CS organizations have to finish their official rosters by June 22nd, before the roster lock for the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023 event, according to journalism website Dust.2. However this time gate will not apply to FURIA and Imperial as both squads are not participating in the competition.
