G2 bid farewell to technical their entire roster that had names such as dapr, wippie, penny, and OXY, plus both of their coaches Immi and Dani. The former Sentinels member ShahZam is the only player to survive the massive exodus, however he will be filling a different role under the organization, content creator. As slightly mentioned within G2’s conclusion video, the 2023 Challengers VALORANT season finished the same way as it started, bringing the squad once again to square one. Before the season started, G2 was considered to be one of the favorites among the NA Challengers scene, mainly thanks to their player core. Former Sentinels and Version1 members plus the addition of youngster OXY, saw the organization finish 3rd in the first split while reaching the grand finals of the Mid-Season Faceoff.

However for most “favorites” such as Disguised and G2, the second half of the season was an absolute disaster. G2 finished their second split group 0-5, then recorded 0 wins in the playoffs which prompted a quick exit from the 2023 season. Throughout a total of 7 series, the squad managed to win only 5 maps, most notably just 1 in the playoffs stage. As former players of Tier 1 organizations such as Sentinels and Version1, everyone expected them to breeze through the league and achieve Tier 1 status once more. Nevertheless, it ends up being a disastrous scenario for everyone involved in the process.

Thankfully, most of the players still have what it takes to be signed by other Tier 2 or even Tier 1 organizations if the opportunity presents itself. Players such as ShahZam, wippie, and OXY were still rated highly amongst the player base even after their poor performances in the entirety of the Challengers season. Almost all of the roster, including coaches, will absolutely receive some interest from Challenger organizations that are looking for some extra depth in their squad.

G2’s presence within NA has yet to be confirmed, while there is a lack of talent available for the organization to sign, the region itself is competitive and provides a higher opportunity for sponsors to come in. As for other projects, G2 still has their Game Changers division (G2 Gozens), which has won once again the Game Changers title and continues to be considered the best squad within the league.
