Monte, Virtus.pro, Cloud9, and their ranking in the ESL World Rankings Complexity determine their entry into the main event. Regional qualifiers will determine the final 6 spots. Through their victory over TYLOO in the Chinese closed qualifier, Lynn Vision has secured their spot thus far. A single team will be guaranteed a spot at IEM China 2024 from each of the following closed qualifiers: Asia, North America, South America, Oceania, and Europe. Through the Asia closed qualifier, TYLOO will have another opportunity to qualify.
The winners of the five vacant slots will be chosen in accordance with the qualifications’ outcomes. Invitations to the closed qualifiers for the European region were extended to Team Falcons, BIG, Eternal Fire, and BetBoom Team.
In a statement ESL said: “Only teams that have finished in the top 20 of the ESL World Ranking at time of draft are eligible. In 2024, with the number of available slots (12) exceeding the number of eligible Partner Teams (10), the top 2 Partner teams within the ESL World Ranking will receive an invitation to both events. If an invitation is declined, we will invite the next Louvre Partner Team in line.”

The IEM China and IEM Dallas slot system was explained by ESL. Both of the competitions are under the organizer’s control. In the meantime, in accordance with the Louvre Agreement, the ESL affiliates have reserved spots. Spots in a number of the organizers’ annual competitions are granted by an arrangement between ESL and the organizations. Clubs are required by the Louvre Agreement to both encourage and welcome participation in ESL tournaments. The parties continue to abide by additional provisions of the Louvre Agreement. In 2021, the Louvre Agreement was extended to include FURIA, Heroic, and BIG. With this expansion, ESL was able to generate $20 million in revenue overall. Furthermore, ESL and other organizers’ relationship with partner teams like BLAST is coming to an end this year. Valve plans to do away with the system by 2025 at the latest. An announcement states that the Louvre Agreement has eighteen ESL partner organizations. For IEM China and IEM Dallas, there are just 12 teams.
It should be noted that ESL previously altered the procedure for allocating and choosing slots for its major events, which are scheduled for 2024. The developments are also relevant to the next IEM Katowice 2024, which takes place from January 31 to February 11.
Fans are excited but they will have to wait and see how everything turns out for these upcoming events.
