Immortals Wins Over Cloud 9, Breaking 4 Week Losing Streak
It might have taken Immortals a total of four weeks in the LCS Summer Split 2022, but they have finally managed to steal another game in the Northamerican tournament bringing one step closer to having better performance in their campaign.
Demonstrating their strength and skill in an impressive display
This time around, the squad woke up feeling great before battling against Cloud 9, as their mental remained through a plethora of rough gold deficits, and lastly fought their way to the winner’s table. It was definitely a well earned win that has given this experimental roster a good boost of confidence heading into the second half of the split.

On this occasion, both teams were in fact relatively even through the early stages of the League of Legends game, constantly trading in small skirmishes and then through a handful of team fights, mainly focusing around the mid and bottom lane. Around the 26 minutes mark, the gold became dead even at forty four thousand a piece, but Cloud 9 had a better time scaling to the late game, as they accrued three dragons lead over their opponents.
This objective control focus from Cloud 9 continued well into the late game, as Cloud 9 took down the Baron and pushed with its raw power by building a four thousand gold lead at that point. Nevertheless as we are accustomed from Cloud 9 at this point, their newfound confidence was pushed more than it needed to, with Immortals quickly finding a comeback option through a huge teamfight opportunity that gave back over multiple bounties leading to a lot of gold, finally breaking Cloud 9’s momentum through the whole game.
Eventually and in an absolutely incredible set of plays, Immortals somehow managed to claw their way back to take dragon soul (after Cloud 9 took the first three) and Baron, but yet still found themselves at a disadvantage in the gold department. On their second Baron attempt, Blaber was actually able to steal the objective away from Immortals, but the follow up team fight left Cloud 9’s team composition in a ditch as two really strong champions in this meta Corki and Kalista brought hell on them with their late game power on full speed.
This latest upset has thrown even more uncertainty and doubt into the Cloud 9 fan base as the project seems to be shaky at this point in time, mainly since they haven’t shown true consistency throughout the summer so far. An underwhelming 4-5 record isn’t something to celebrate for an organization such as Cloud 9, especially with the star studded players and experience they have on their League of Legends lineup.
Immortals, on the other hand, are absolutely celebrating with this result as they should be looking to emulate this success, while trying to climb their way back out of last place into the middle pack of the LCS Summer Split 2022. It will be a matter of time to see what happens with both teams especially after half of the split is over so stay tuned and check all of our LCS esports picks!
