Imperial to Finishing $200,000 Buyout for Chelo, while G2 Reportedly Signed Hooxi

Imperial Acquires Chelo from MIBR

Brazilian based team Imperial is set to bring the MIBR CS GO rifle main and current in game leader Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes in a $200,000 buyout clause deal, information from a report by Brazilian HLTV vertical Dust 2 Brasil.

Chelo still has 4 months left on his contract with current team MIBR, and per rumors within the community, there was no organization’s plans to continue negotiations, however, MIBR appeared set to complete the deal due to chelo’s desire to play with Imperial, mainly as he’ll be able to play alongside back to back Major champions FalleN and fer.

Imperial has not finished a contract with chelo yet, but both teams involved in the transfer expect that the deal will be finished quite soon. Once the transfer is successful, chelo will take the spot of the CS GO veteran fnx, who is reportedly on his way out of the team after unfortunate results in performance, according to Dust 2 Brasil.

Chelo has been looking into this opportunity with MIBR since the team signed the BOOM Esports lineup around January 2021. The 24 year old has always been one of the most talented players amongst the team, while also taking the in game leader role after MIBR decided to bench Adriano “WOOD7” Cerato after the PGL Antwerp Major. Chelo is expected to fulfill the primary rifler role in Imperial as FalleN is the current IGL, and of course, is a big voice within the team.

As for MIBR, the departure of chelo will create some troublesome times for the rest of the season. The team will most likely have difficulty in finding the next player with the same mechanical prowess and talent chelo provided. On top of that, they need to look for another player who will take on the in game leader role.

Now going into G2, former Copenhagen Flames IGL Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen was brought by G2 on a permanent contract for the rest of the season and will take the place of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, according to a report by 1pv.fr.

HooXi will come to the team and try to fix their current strategic issues, while getting the most out of prodigy players like Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. The 27 year old IGL gained certain respect within the scene after he solely led Copenhagen Flames to back to back Major appearances at PGL Stockholm Major in 2021 and PGL Antwerp Major in 2022, even advancing to the playoffs in the latter.

This huge addition of HooXi would hopefully put an end to the rumors of what direction G2 would take for the remainder of the split. It was rather unknown whether a new IGL would be coming or if NiKo would take the role as he did in previous teams.

In addition to reportedly having signed HooXi, G2 has also reportedly provided a contract to the Australian native rifle main Justin “jks” Savage to replace Audric “JACKZ” Jug. Once these signings are confirmed, the international juggernaut would play with HooXi, jks, NiKo, m0NESY, and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač for the rest of 2022.

Both of these teams will be playing for the first time with their new acquisitions in August. Make sure to stay tuned as we’ll be sharing our CSGO betting and CSGO odds!
