JDG Advances to LPL Upper Bracket Finals

A lot of high expectations have been on LNG Esports lately as they did achieve a resurgence after the underwhelming regular split stage, and contemplating if maybe they could continue their cinderella run into the summer split playoffs stage.

LPL Upper Bracket Finals

However, sadly for LNG Esports, it looked like JD Gaming had completely opposite plans for this series. Coming into their League of Legends games yesterday, JD Gaming absolutely dumpstered LNG Esport’s winning spirits by shutting them down rather quickly with a 3-0 scoreline in the best of five.

JDG will face off against Top Esports in the UB finals

In order to adapt and thus counter LNG Esport’s comeback mentality, JDG followed a simple yet effective mindset, being as aggressive as possible to gain a lead in the early game which then they can snowball into a victory. However funnily enough right in the first game it didn’t work as expected, this strategy clearly had some inconsistencies not something JDG had hoped to experience.

Their overly aggressive plays were punished by LNG Esports and it looked like they would actually walk away with the first victory in the series. Nevertheless, it was JD Gaming’s mid laner Yagao who broke the script in the deciding Baron fight. His Azir managed to hit freely in a teamfight, where he picked up a quadra kill and helped JDG to win the first game at last.

Going into the second game, we saw JD Gaming become even more proactive early game on the map with Yagao’s pressure on Sylas and 369’s lane priority on Renekton generating chaos in teamfights and small skirmishes. Once we hit the mid game and Hope’s Lucien achieved his power spike, JD Gaming just steam rolled through the game.

They were able to close the LNG Esport’s lineup and successfully eliminate the enemy nexus to gain a 2-0 scoreline in the series. Sadly for LNG the story continued as they had the worst possible game start in game three. JD Gaming pushed for a five man bot lane gank allowing their AD carry Hope to get two early kills within the first minute of the game, this impacts more than just the raw gold as LNG Esport’s mentality going into a do or die game three got smashed to pieces.

JD Gaming did not give LNG Esports any kind of room throughout the entirety of the last game of the series. They exploited any overextension or mistake from the enemy’s gameplay. After killing all five players, JD Gaming was able to roll down the mid lane and successfully take down LNG Esport’s Nexus.

With this astonishing victory, JD Gaming have secured qualification for the upper bracket finals of the 2022 LPL Summer playoffs stage. On this stage they will compete against juggernaut Top Esports on August 26th for a grand finals ticket on the LPL.

LNG Esport’s path in the playoffs has not been finished yet. They will now face Edward Gaming next on August 25th, in a must win situation to stay alive and advance further in the lower bracket. Today we’ll be talking about the LNG vs EDG more in depth in one of our esports picks, so make sure to check it out!
