KSCERATO Makes His Third Appearance In HLTV’s Top 20 Players Of The Year List

KSCERATO Hits on the Top 20 Players Of The Year

Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato got his greatest ranking to date on the HLTV top 20 players of the year list thanks to his elite level against the best teams and remarkable performances at some of the year’s biggest tournaments.

Following a particularly strong performance in 2022, KSCERATO makes his third appearance on the top 20 players of the year list. He achieved his highest ranking to date as a result of his excellent consistency against the best opposition, exceptional performances at four crucial events, and an absolutely phenomenal second half of the year, during which he finished as the highest-rated player on LAN.

His round-to-round and tournament-to-tournament consistency allowed him to break into the top 20 for the first time in 2020, placing him in 18th. He improved on that performance in 2021, finishing in 15th, as the return of international competition and offline LANs allowed him to showcase his elite caliber and exceptional fragging.

KSCERATO earns a spot in the top 20 players of the year for continuously putting forth strong performances at the major competitions. He performed even better against the best teams, averaging 1.19 rating against the top 5 teams and 1.21 ratings against the top 10 teams.

He averaged 1.17 ratings at Elite events. He maintained his status as one of the most difficult riflers to kill throughout 2022, posting 0.59 deaths each round, and was an elite-tier T side player throughout the year with an average rating of 1.12. (ninth lowest).

The 23-year-old frequently made a difference with multi-kill rounds (18.6% of rounds had two or more kills, ranking #8) and additionally did significant damage to his opponents, averaging 79.7 damage and 0.73 kills per round (ranking #11 and #11). He also contributed to FURIA in late-round contests, winning the fourth-most clutches per round and scoring the second-most clutch points each round.

His outstanding performances at IEM Katowice, where he received a rare EVP mention despite FURIA’s group stage loss, and at the IEM Rio Major, where he was a clear favorite in the MVP race until his team was eliminated in the semifinals, stood out in particular.

He received two more EVP mentions as a result of his great performance in both ESL Pro League seasons, particularly in the later season where he averaged an astounding 1.34 rating over 15 maps.

KSCERATO didn’t finish higher because, like stavn, he struggled in important matches (1.09 rating), but also because he had a smaller sample size than the rest of the field and a lackluster individual performance in the middle of the year.

Due in part to consistently maintaining his level against the strongest teams, whilst the Heroic member’s statistics fell off, the Brazilian rifler finished narrowly ahead of Martin “stavn” Lund on the list (1.06 vs. top 5 and 1.08 vs. top 10).
