As the League 2023 World Championship narrows down to four teams, the remaining ones are gearing up for the 2024 season by implementing significant changes to their roster, resulting in a trading fest around the different regions. Larssen, a crucial figure in the EMEA League region, was the center of attention this offseason. Speculations arose about his potential talks with various teams, attracting significant interest from several of the top sides in EU. The destination of his career became a major concern during the roster shuffle, but he has now put an end to all uncertainties with a recent social media announcement. It has been confirmed that Larssen has extended his contract with Infinity Reality (formerly known as KOI), with rumors first being disclosed by Sheep Esports.
In 2023, KOI’s League team faced an extremely challenging year, with a plethora of downs. Despite their strong start in the LEC Winter playoffs, they experienced a rapid decline thereafter. Disappointingly, they secured the eighth position in both the LEC Summer Groups and the Summer Season. Their performance in the Spring Groups landed them in sixth place, while they settled for seventh in both the Spring and Winter Seasons. Regrettably, they had to witness G2, Fnatic, MAD Lions, and Team BDS represent their region at Worlds.
It is uncertain which other team members will stay or depart after the dissolution of the partnership between KOI and Infinite Reality back on November 3rd, despite the team retaining its superstar mid laner. Larssen, along with two other former KOI active players, Malrang and Advienne, are nearing the end of their contracts, as seen within the League Esports Global Contracts Database. Any news regarding their future, whether they choose to stay or explore other opportunities, is still unknown.

Infinite Reality has secured Larssen’s position for 2024, but the LEC squad still has several choices to make, such as finalizing the starting lineup and strategizing their brand approach for the upcoming year. It is highly probable that Infinite Reality will revert back to their initial League branding, Rogue, considering that streamer Ibai retains the rights to his KOI branding.
Overall these are strange times for Rogue/KOI fans, however with the transfer period in full swing we should see rumors and even announcements coming up within the next couple of weeks.
