T1 (-303) vs DRX (+209) – Friday
This is going to be a match between two 4-1 teams, though one of them is the clear favorite. DRX’s 4-1 record might be a bit deceiving, considering that they haven’t faced a single strong team. They have played mostly against teams that are currently sitting at the bottom-half of the standings, which makes us wonder how strong DRX actually is.
The matchup in the mid lane is going to be the most interesting one to watch as both Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo play in a similar way. Both act as enablers for the rest of their team, though Faker’s side lanes are obviously stronger than Zeka’s. Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung is looking like the best ADC in the league by far, and that might end up making a big difference in this match.
Like we mentioned in our esports bets, as long as T1 don’t try anything crazy in their draft, they shouldn’t struggle much against DRX. One important thing to keep in mind is that T1 dropped their series against the Kwangdong Freecs, meaning they no longer can go for a 18-match win streak like they did in the spring split regular season. Hopefully this doesn’t affect their mentality in the upcoming games and still try their hardest against every team in the league.
If you want to watch a team try to upset one of the strongest contenders for the title and a very interesting clash in the mid lane featuring Faker and Zeka, be sure to catch this match on Friday at 7:00 am ET.
Damwon (-417) vs Nongshim RedForce (+278) – Sunday
While Damwon might be the strongest team on paper in this match, they can’t rest on their laurels against Nongshim RedForce. Even if they haven’t managed to pick up a lot of wins, Nongshim has really strong players and they might actually give Damwon a run for their money if they get a good draft. It’s still really strange to see a team with the likes of Canna, Bdd and Ghost struggle so much even versus the weakest teams in the league.
The coaching staff changes they made in the off-season should be enough to get them into the playoffs, at least if they keep improving throughout the regular season. Both Kim “Canna” Chang-dong Gwak “BDD” Bo-seong are looking really solid as solo laners, which is impressive considering just how stacked the competition is in these 2 lanes.
It wouldn’t be that crazy to say that Canna is better than Nuguri, at least from what we’ve seen in these past couple of weeks. If Nongshim manages to get an early lead big enough against Damwon, we could be seeing a very close series, which is something unexpected if you just see the name of both teams
Damwon is still trying to consolidate themselves and return to their 2020 form, though there isn’t much hope for their fans right now. On the other hand, Nongshim RedForce is a team that is just going to get better and better as time passes so don’t miss out on this match on Sunday at 4:00am ET.
KT Rolster (-238) vs Hanwha Life Esports (+175) – Sunday
This is going to be a battle between two of the weaker teams in the league, though Hanwha Life is in a much more uncomfortable position as they haven’t been able to score a single win yet, though they have been able to snatch a few games here and there. They almost came back into their series against Nongshim RedForce as they picked up a very convincing win in the 2nd game, but they couldn’t keep it up in the last game.
Kim “OnFleek” Jang-gyeom is the player that’s performing the best from the HLE lineup, as his WuKong was the main reason why they were able to take a game off NS. Overall, HLE is the team that averages the highest number of deaths per game with 13.3, luckily for them there is one team that is looking a bit worse than them in Fredit BRION.
The lol odds heavily favor KT Rolster, but it wouldn’t be too crazy to see them struggle against Hanwha Life. OnFleek can give KT a run for their money as Cuzz isn’t necessarily the strongest member for KT. If you want to see two teams that are struggling against the stronger teams of the league brawl it out to save themselves from being the last-place team then you should watch this match on Sunday at 7:00am ET.
