In each instance of the League of Legends World Championship, the bot lane position always arrives as one of the main pillars in the meta. It seems like at each iteration of the World Championship, there’s at least one Bot Laner that absolutely demolishes the opposition as the cornerstone of the lineup. Similar to JackeyLove in 2018 or Huanfeng in 2020, the bot laner has always made the World Championship their playing ground.
This season might be similar, as a lot of Bot Laners are coming into the event as heavy favorites for the spotlight, while other youngsters are set to show the world what they are made of. Outside of the top side meta, Bot Laners always manage to show up either via scaling or playing high utility picks.
Throughout the 2022 Summer Split, Bot Laners have been present on the live server, with picks such as Zeri, Kalista, Lucian, and Draven being the heavy favorites as “meta” champions. While the meta itself has not yet surfaced in patch 12.18, most likely we will see new picks like Varus and Tristana come into the Rift.

RNG Gala
Royal Never Give Up have officially triumphed in two international championships in the past two seasons, and at the epicenter lays what most think is the best mechanical Bot Laner in the world, GALA. Unfortunately in the 2021 World Championship, we did not see much of GALA, as he was placed into Miss Fortune duty for Royal Never Give Up on a total of seven of the team’s 12 tournament games. Nevertheless, we think it is likely this time around he will have more spots to show why he remains in Royal Never Give Up and why he is feared by every single bot laner in the world. GALA has achieved a Kill to Death Ratio of 4.9 at international tournaments starting in 2021 and then finishing as the kill leader in both MSI 2021 and MSI 2022. If Royal Never Give Up manages to make a deep run this year, we are certain it is going to be thanks to the performance of GALA.

TES Jackeylove
Jackeylove is a player that loves the big stage, he always somehow shows up in international events. Although he seems to be not on par with other LPL bot laners, JackeyLove still remains as the quintessential aggressive do-or-die player. It is going to be rather difficult to predict if he will continue to play this lane-dominant playstyle in Worlds 2022, or if Jackeylove will choose a more tame utility/scaling supportive focus for his team. The last instance of Jackeylove playing a weak side role was all the way back in 2018, as even in this last Summer Split he continuously “coinfliped” the early game with extremely aggressive play. Regardless of his playstyle, we do know he is capable of greatness.
