Format and Phases

There will be two separate stages of the competition. All organizations will play one match against one another in a best of three single round robin style during Phase 1. The bottom team from this phase will be eliminated, while the top 4 rosters move on to the next round.

The remaining teams will compete in a single-elimination tournament in Phase 2, with all matches being best of five. In addition to winning the title, the First Stand champion will earn their whole region an extra MSI bracket stage bye, which will give them a significant edge going into the upcoming international tournament.

The 5 participating organizations are Team Liquid Honda representing the LTA, Karmine Corp from the LEC, Hanwha Life Esports from the LCK, Top Esports from the LPL, and CTBC Flying Oyster from the LCP. With Fearless Draft mode in play, teams will need to showcase both their strategic depth and adaptability as champions cannot be picked twice within a single series.

Key Matches to Watch

The action will kick off on March 10, with Team Liquid Honda facing Karmine Corp in the tournament’s opening match, followed by Hanwha Life Esports going up against Top Esports. On March 11th, CTBC Flying Oyster will play their first match against Karmine Corp, while Team Liquid Honda will clash with Top Esports in what promises to be an exciting encounter between LTA and LPL representatives.

The group stage will conclude on March 12th, featuring a showdown between CTBC Flying Oyster and Hanwha Life Esports, while the last match of the round robin will see Karmine Corp take on tournament favorites Top Esports.

First Stand serves as an early benchmark for the regions heading into MSI later this year. The first international event will feature high-stakes action with the added incentive of obtaining an automatic bracket stage bye for their region for the next MSI. As rosters fight for the first international trophy of the 2025 season, fans should expect them to go all out.
