LOUD Wins VCT Americas After Sweeping NRG
When they defeated NRG Esports 3-0 in the VCT Americas League championship match, LOUD added a new trophy to their collection. The Brazilian team defeated their seasoned adversaries, the main players from OpTic Gaming who joined NRG prior to the VCT 2023 season’s commencement.
With the victory, LOUD received the US$100,000 main prize and the top seed in the VCT Americas for the Masters Tokyo tournament, which takes place from June 11 to June 25. Eight international matches between the two sides had preceded the grand final. In their most recent meeting, which took place in the seventh week of the regular season, NRG triumphed 2-0.

The South American team advanced to the grand final in the playoffs with victories over Evil Geniuses (2-1 win) and FURIA Esports (2-0 win) during their upper bracket run. NRG eliminated FURIA, C9, and EG while dominating the lower bracket.
LOUD chose Ascent as the map for game one, and NRG lost the first two rounds on it. However, after making the necessary improvements, NRG won the following five rounds in succession. The NA team increased their advantage thanks to a brilliant Vandal spray that won Sam “s0m” Oh, aces.
At halftime, LOUD found themselves behind 7-5, but they swiftly turned the tide when they moved to defense. Rising stars Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira and Arthur “tuyz” Vieira from the Brazilian team effectively stopped NRG’s split pushes. After that, the South American team only lost two more rounds, ultimately winning 13-9 on Ascent.

With Viper’s Toxic screen, the NA team frequently attempted to seize a brief control over the area. Saadhak, however, was able to challenge the regions NRG attempted to isolate by using Chamber’s Rendezvous to teleport to safety. The other Brazilian players pushed from other areas of the map as NRG was occupied fighting in Saadhak’s Chamber. Due to the deadly flank moves that resulted, LOUD quickly took a 5-0 round lead.
After the break, LOUD gained momentum and won the next round with a score of 12-8. The following three rounds were won by NRG, however, cauazin and Felipe “Less” Basso managed to win an amazing 2v4 round to take a 2-0 series lead.
The following map, Fracture, was chosen by LOUD, and it featured back-and-forth combat between the two teams. However, just like the previous two games, the Brazilian team’s late-game heroics put NRG’s season to death. With the score knotted 9-9, Saadhak executed a superb 1v4 clutch to give his team the lead while also shattering NRG’s economy.
In the last phases of the match, more rounds were exchanged, but LOUD was able to win the final two to win 13-11 on Fracture and take home the VCT Americas title. LOUD’s outstanding playoff performance demonstrated their status as a serious Masters Tokyo contender. When they compete in Japan against the top teams from the various international leagues, they will try to win their second global VCT trophy.
