The League of Legends transfer market period is now in full motion throughout the entire competitive scene, with all regions now a week into this change timeframe. Today we are going to take a look at 2 rosters which definitely needed a breath of fresh air going into 2023.
MAD Lions
2022 has been a tough reality check for MAD Lions. A couple of seasons ago MAD Lions was known as the best EU team in the LEC, however as of recently, MAD finished 7th place in the LEC for the Spring Split even missing the playoffs.
That underwhelming ending brought quite a lot of doubt into the transfer market period for MAD Lions. Thankfully for fans, MAD Lions has already confirmed their next steps regarding its roster for 2023.
MAD Lions officially announced they cut ties with Armut, Kaiser, and UNF0RGIVEN as the squad will be changing its approach for the Spring Split. MAD Lions managed to keep star jungler Elyoya and 2022 LEC Summer Split MVP Nisqy for 2023.
MAD Lions needed to start by looking for a new bot lane, well half new. MAD’s bot laner will be a familiar face, Carzzy is set to come back to the team for 2023. Alongside him, an LEC veteran, ex Fnatic support Hylissang. With 2 more LEC experienced players added in the bot lane, MAD Lions decided to bring an up and coming talent for the top lane. Coming from the LCK, ex DWG KIA and X7 Esports top laner Chasy will take the top lane spot for next split.
This roster will include a reigning MVP, a returning star at bot lane, one of the best supports in the LEC, and an LCK import top laner who is coming with full force to prove himself.

Team Vitality
Team Vitality did not manage to even make playoffs at the end of Summer after their “superteam” campaign, finishing 7th to put an end to one of the worst runs in competitive League history.
Via social media, Vitality announced the departures of top laner Alphari, jungler Haru, bot laner Carzzy, and support Labrov. After this only Perkz, jungler Bo, and benched jungler Selfmade are still under contract.
On the top side, it is rumored that Vitality will bring SKT Challengers top laner Photon, with Bo taking over Selfmade to start the next split. Bottom lane for Vitality is reported to be completely new with bot laner Neon and ex MAD Lions support Kaiser.
