The roster switch was rather unexpected for everyone around the scene, because Bymas had technically just assisted the team qualify for IEM Rio Major Europe Regional Major Ranking (RMR). Nevertheless, xertioN was able to give fans a first glance of what he can do in the live server, finishing the Heroic matchup as the MVP with a1.25 rating and a 48-36 Kill to Death Ratio.

The clash on the second map Mirage could have been different but ultimately it was MOUZ who reached the victory with a 16-14 scoreline, thanks to a team effort between Jon “JDC” de Castro, xertioN, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás, and David “frozen” Čerňanský. Dust 2, rather different from the first game, was a way easier map for MOUZ. XertioN demolished Heroic.

Michael “Grim” Wince, player for Complexity

Going into our second team, Complexity completed a comeback thanks to a reverse sweep against Astralis 2-1 in the opening round of ESL Pro League season 16’s Group C, achieving one if not the best series the North American organization has had in its history.

Fans were excited, as the victory came thanks to team effort and patient play. They were 0-1 down in the series after losing Inferno 16-9 and had to look for their first win on Nuke after the third overtime, winning the map 25-23. The series went to the third game in Dust II, and Complexity started with a 9-3 scoreline then switched sides to confidently close the game 16-11.

The Danish squad had Benjamin “blameF” Bremer comin in hot with 80 frags and 58 deaths, while Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Asger “Farlig” Jensen, and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke also had positive Kill to Death Ratios by the end of the series. While in Complexity, on the other hand, only had Michael “Grim” Wince end with a positive Kill to Death Ratio, while all the other players didn’t really contribute much damage in the game.

Only three of the six teams in the group will continue to the playoffs, so Astralis will have to take down at least one of either MOUZ, Heroic, or ENCE to have a small chance of qualifying. As for Complexity, this is their best result in 2022 so far.
