OG Yuragi moved to inactive
Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev, OG’s carry, was unexpectedly placed on the inactive roster in advance of the DreamLeague Season 22 competition. This action runs against to Sébastien “Ceb” Debs’s prior assertions that OG wants stability and won’t be changing the roster in 2024. Yuragi’s transfer to the inactive list may be a result of OG’s underwhelming showing at the just ended BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai event, where the team placed last. The Dota 2 community has started to speculate as a result of this lineup adjustment. Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, who most recently competed for Tundra Esports, is rumored to be OG’s next carry player. Five days have passed since the end of BetBoom Dacha Dubai, the first high-profile LAN Dota 2 competition of 2024. OG qualified for 2 of the 3 main events this year, which was a wonderful start to the year. However, as they were seated among the world’s biggest names in BetBoom Dacha, their performance suffered, and they were unable to go past the Group Stage. In Dota 2, OG continues to have one of the most illustrious legacies. Ultimately, they remain the sole group to have won The International twice in a row. However, the iconic lineup led by NoTail and Ceb was eventually disbanded due to burnout and lengthy careers. For the first time in more than two years, OG will need to replace their position one as a result of the following phase. Although OG did not give an explanation for the change in their official release on X, rumors about it have already started to circulate. After the Dota 2 roster swap following TI, a few carry players are still without a place to call home. Rumor has it that Timado, a former Tundra carry, will be joining the team. They will have a lot of pressure to restore OG to the pinnacle of Dota, regardless of the next player to join the squad. With DreamLeague season 22 just five days away, someone is undoubtedly already in the wings. The announcement of the next person to don the jersey, even temporarily, won’t have to wait for very long.

When Yuragi, a 22-year-old Ukrainian, initially joined OG in 2021, he immediately gained notoriety. This team, known as OG 2.0 or the next generation of OG, had doubts from the community at first because of their unfamiliar names. However, Yuragi and OG would become well-known after winning the ESL One Stockholm Major and ESL One Malaysia, two tier-1 competitions in 2022. But the good times abruptly ended with a bad phase. OG had one of its worst years in 2023 as they were unable to advance to subsequent tournaments. Even worse, OG did not make it into The International for the first time in the organization’s history.
By 2024, OG was off to a solid start. The group performed admirably in the BetBoom Dacha and DreamLeague S22 qualifications. However, OG’s dismal showing at BetBoom Dacha Dubai, where they finished 9th–12th, demanded some adjustments. Prior to DreamLeague Season 22, the upcoming major competition, Yuragi and OG will be splitting up.
