The PGL Wallachia S4 has a tough group stage setup that really challenges weaker teams. The single swiss system means that if an organization can’t win 3 best of three fixtures in a row, they’ll have to play extra series to figure out where they would land on the table. Terrible fate

Sadly, that was the outcome for them in the early group stage of the tournament. They had impressive positive outcomes against Talon Esports and Team Liquid, but couldn’t manage to get another win to make it to the coveted top eight. Instead, they faced 3 consecutive losses that left the entire community confused as they witnessed their rapid decline.
After looking closely at the Falcons’ games, it appears that the players don’t really trust their main carry, skiter. The strange choices for hard carry heroes, like Gyrocopter, Tiny, amongst other slow scalers, were pretty questionable moves by the one in charge, Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu. To make things worse, it seems like the lineup have just left their carry to deal with everything on his own, often finding him isolated on the edge of the map where he gets pushed around by the enemy team.
Additionally, it’s obvious that ATF, a key player for the team, has not been performing as well in the last couple of series. Outside of that, these composition changes indicate that Falcons might not trust their late game execution, where skiter is supposed to shine as the carry. It’s important to note that he as a player has been performing rather well. He was the champion of The International 11 when he played for Tundra Esports and continues to be one of the top carry players in the esport.

Clearly, Falcons have to rethink their game plan approach and figure out what went wrong as they prepare for the next set of fixtures. The community is hoping this doesn’t lead them to make a random roster change, as fans were excited to see this roster on the server. These players have been together since late 2023 and have achieved a lot in the Dota 2 competitive scene, so it would be really disappointing to break them up. Nevertheless, we all know how fast the competitive scene can be, thus we don’t expect too many extra chances being given to them.
