Russian AWPer is main target for Mouz and Fnatic ahead of CS2

OG’s Russian AWPer Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov is in Mouz’s and Fnatic’s sights before the official release of CS2. Both squads have made him their primary sign target in order to bolster their active lineup before the next Major starts, according to CIS journalist OverDrive on June 27th.

OG benched degster from the main active lineup back on June 20th, with MaciejF1KUMiklas taking the reins as their main sniper. Once a player is benched it is rather normal for them to look for opportunities outside of their current organization, and the 21-year-old will most likely not be an exception to this rule.

In a possible move where Degster could remain in the European region, both MOUZ and Fnatic are interested in his services, especially as both squads are reportedly making changes on their active lineup this summer.

MOUZ has been active in the transfer period, with reports already linking them with the signing of IGL KamilsiuhySzkaradek, according to reports since June 12th. Siuhy is coming off his best performance, at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, ultimately leading GamerLegion to the grand finals of the tournament. Christopher “dexter” Nong would be the player leaving MOUZ’s roster if siuhy comes in to form a deadly duo with degster.

As for Fnatic, reportedly they will have at least 2 spots open ahead of CS2. Dion “FASHR” Derksen is a target for OG’s full rebuild, while their current AWPer NiconicoodozTamjidi is also out of the lineup according to a report from Dexerto. Degster could provide the much-needed firepower for Fnatic, especially if given the space to play aggressively.

Both squads present a competitive opportunity for degster, with MOUZ replacing torszi and FNatic replacing nicoodoz. Nevertheless, if both organizations provide a competitive environment, most likely the only edge would be salary when it comes to the final decision.

Degster has yet to officially leave OG, however it is a matter of time for the Russian to end his 1 year playing stint with the organization. He signed back in July of 2022 and recorded a decent 1.15 rating during this time, according to statistics website HLTV.

For now only MOUZ and Fnatic seem to be looking for his signing, however a player with degster’s skills might see other organizations looking for his signature rather soon. During the player break a plethora of teams are looking to rebuild their lineups, in order to assemble the strongest roster possible for the next Major cycle. But one thing is different this time around, it is within a brand new game, which is the perfect opportunity to have a clean slate to write history.
