The journey to success has been challenging, as the team has struggled to establish domestic dominance that parallels their international achievements, having secured more World Championship titles than LCK trophies during their 3 years under the same brand. At this point in 2023, it appeared likely that the team would disband, but an impressive run at Worlds led to the roster extending their contracts for one more season. Currently, they find themselves in a similar situation, with 4 out of 5 players facing imminent contract expirations, after their recent clause. Ultimately it is a tough situation for everyone involved, as T1 has no control of what comes next. Faker has already mentioned his desire for the squad to stay together, with him confirming his continuation amongst doubts of possible retirement. Nevertheless we won’t expect to hear any news on this for a couple of weeks. Ultimately this roster is considered to be one if not the best ever assembled by a League of Legends organization. What makes this roster so special?
T1’s journey goes far beyond their recent success on the international stage. Nevertheless, their synergy was so strong they managed to push through, eventually qualifying via the regional LCK event to Worlds 2023 and winning it. This time around they faced similar challenges domestically, but faced their demons in Gen.G and the LPL to win Worlds 2024.
