It’s clear that Team Liquid had a tough challenge ahead of them against PARIVISION. They were no strangers to the taste of defeat, as they have not won against their current rivals during the entire year. PARIVISION even beat them in the Upper Bracket Final of this event, which must have been a real blow to Team Liquid’s confidence while they look for silverware in 2025.
However, even as the underdogs, TL surprised everyone by recording positive results in the first 2 matches. This unexpected turn of events definitely caught PARIVISION off guard, as Liquid played aggressively and executed their playbook effectively in both matches. The true reasoning behind their success was forgetting about the past, TL played with confidence we have not seen in months.

Once they had their back against the wall, PARIVISION boldly employed their unconventional strategy. Originating from famous player/streamer AdmiralBulldog, “Rat Dota” is notoriously recognized as one of the most underhanded tactics for this stage of the event, often utilizing Nature’s Prophet. However, PARIVISION escalated this strategy’s infamy by incorporating Underlord into their hero lineup.
When Liquid chose not to ban Nature’s Prophet and Underlord in the deciding match, everyone was in awe, fearing the worst for them. After all, it had already been established that Liquid struggled to counter PARIVISION’s Rat Dota approach. As the match extended to a record breaking hour, Nature’s Prophet was able to inflict significant pressure on the throne without much help. Nevertheless, Team Liquid capitalized on a single misstep by PARIVISION after they bought back during a rough teamfight. Satanic, who had been separated from his team to focus on strictly pushing for any inner structure, made a critical error by opting to join the full on scrap in the middle of the map. This decision ultimately led to PARIVISION’s downfall, resulting in a complete team wipe.
One might suggest Team Liquid won by a single misstep from their opponent’s, however you can’t undermine their immediate punishment. Moving forwards, Team Liquid will most likely continue with the current roster, as it seems to have finally clicked this year.
