Twistzz mentions exhaustion and burnout after FaZe’s elimination from IEM Rio 2023
FaZe Clan’s CS GO rifle main superstar Twistzz has brought to light his recent experiences with burnout symptoms after the squad were eliminated from the IEM Rio Major 2023 thanks to Team Vitality earlier in the week, ultimately missing the chance to play live and in front of their fans. The Canadian native and his squadmates started their journey in Rio last Monday, April 17th, barely 2 days after they managed to qualify for the BLAST Paris Major in May through the tough arena that was the Last Chance Qualifier event.
Twistzz via a social media post:
“Rough loss and individual performance but I have no shame in saying I am exhausted” “Finally time to rest, stressful few weeks and every person deals with it differently. One too many days on low sleep, no appetite. Now the feeling of winning will be even better after resting.”
Twistzz had an unexpected underwhelming performance in the elimination match against Team Vitality. He is normally one if not the flashiest fraggers within the FaZe squad, however he failed to impress or make an impact in duels versus ZywOo and teammates. The Canadian veteran finished the series recording 0.4 Kill to Death Ratio, 44.3 ADR, and a rock bottom 0.62 overall rating, according to CS GO statistic website HLTV. Looking at other members from FaZe, throughout the year, Twistzz overall rating stayed around 1.13 rather close to ropz and broky when it comes to kill output.
Most of the community empathized with Twistzz’s words and opinions on the matter, plus sent positive comments wishing the rifle main some good rest before the start of the BLAST Paris Major. Before starting their campaign for CS GO’s last major via playing the Europe RMR, FaZe had a little more than a week to rest soon after their victory at ESL Pro League Season 17 at the end of March, ultimately finishing their Intel Grand Slam season 4 campaign.
The IEM Rio Major is set to take a small break this week for squads to focus on their preparation for the playoffs stage, which is set to start tomorrow and conclude on Sunday, April 23rd. Team Vitality are looking forward to their matchup versus German based squad BIG tomorrow at 10am CT in the first quarter finals series, while Heroic and FURIA will battle in the second quarter finals at 1:30 pm CT. Cloud 9 and Natus Vincere are currently waiting at the semifinals stage after achieving the best runs through the group stage, with both squads quickly becoming fan favorites to win it all.
