VALORANT 2023 Offseason Rostermania: All You Need To Know
As the first year of the VALORANT cooperation draws to a close, the majority of the professional players who participated in the VCT or Challengers have finished their seasons.
When Champions 2023 begins in August to crown a third VALORANT world champion, only 16 teams will still have something to play for. However, top and tier two clubs alike must now turn their attention to next season.

NRG
Both Sam “s0m” Oh and Pujan “FNS” Mehta have acknowledged their inactivity with the NRG. According to FNS, he was no longer satisfied in his role and felt it was “best for both parties” if he left.
Both players plan to broadcast during the offseason while also considering potential contracts. s0m added, “The plan right now is just to stream, but if anything comes up this offseason or next year, we’ll see what we can do.”

FaZe Clan
On July 24th, the whole VALORANT lineup was made public by FaZe Clan. Formerly under contract are now free agents Andrej “babybay” Francisty, Kevin “poised” Ngo, Phat “supamen” Le, Anthony “mummAy” DiPaulo, and Tanner “tiGG” Spanu.
It’s possible that FaZe will leave VALORANT altogether. The organization competed in North American VCT in 2021 and 2022 did not get a partnership. They finished in the middle of the North American Challengers standings in 2023.

TSM
TSM’s VALORANT team was officially released on July 8. Free agents have been declared for Corey “corey” Nigra, Eric “Kanpeki” Xu, Anthony “gMd” Guimond, Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison, and Johann “seven” Hernandez.
After placing fourth in the first split of the NA Challengers, the TSM lineup fell to eighth in the second split and were eliminated from playoff contention after consecutive losses to Moist Moguls and FaZe Clan. TSM as a team intends to “re-enter” VALORANT before the next season begins.

G2 Esports
On July 7, G2 released its full VALORANT roster, with the exception of content creator Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan. Francis “OXY” Hoang, Michael “dapr” Gulino, Erik “penny” Penny, and Maxim “wippie” Shepelev are all free agents as of this week.
The G2 roster had high hopes for the season going on, and they appeared to be on track midway through the North American Challengers season to deliver. However, they were unable to maintain their strong first half performance, and ended the year with seven successive losses.

Shopify Rebellion
As of the 18th of June, both Anthony “vanity” Malaspina and Brandon “bdog” Michael Sanders became free agents, having been released by Shopify Rebellion. Victor “v1c” Truong, Kaleb “moose” Jayne, and Adam “mada” Pampuch are still under contract with the team.
After acquiring the former Luminosity squad at year’s end 2022, Shopify continued to use the same team throughout 2023. Shopify recruited vain after he left Cloud9 and before the Challenger split to play the position of IGL. After a poor first split, the squad made some adjustments and improved, but they were still eliminated from postseason contention quickly.

Disguised
Disguised released their entire North American Challengers VALORANT lineup and management team on June 9. As of right now, the following players are unrestricted free agents: Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, Joseph “clear” Allen, Amgalan “Genghsta” Nemekhbayar, Michael “nerve” Yerrow, Drake “Exalt” Branly, and Joshua “steel” Nissan.
At the start of 2023, Disguised Toast signed his VALORANT roster, and the club was able to enter the NA Challengers League. Disguised signed the prolific yay between splits, but the team was ultimately relegated after failing to win a single series afterward. Toast’s Disguised brand fields a Game Changers squad at present, but whether or not that same roster will return for NA Challengers 2024 remains to be seen.
