16 teams from the 4 International Leagues will compete in the VALORANT Champions Seoul. Every league will send 4 teams: the top 3 teams from the Stage 2 Playoffs will qualify for the playoffs, while the 4th club will be selected based on Championship Points earned over the course of the season. Championship Points will be used in 2024 as a means of gauging a team’s performance during the season and awarding consistent teams with Champions Qualification. Champions, the VCT circuit’s championship event is the culmination of the fiercely competitive VALORANT season. After Los Angeles in 2023, Berlin in 2021, and Istanbul in 2022, Seoul is scheduled to host Champions in 2023. It will be the first city in Asia to hold this esteemed competition. The current champions, Evil Geniuses, won the championship after overcoming Paper Rex in the Los Angeles, California, 2023 tournament final.
Recognized for its intense gaming tradition, the nation stands as one of the biggest esports marketplaces globally. The modern-day esports culture originated in South Korea and swiftly expanded to the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia, among other countries. It all began in 1998 when Internet cafés, often referred to as PC bangs, created a competitive atmosphere. South Korean esports started in the early 2000s when online video games were extremely popular in the nation due to the expanding number of locations connected by the statewide broadband network. The largest event of the year, which is slated to take place from August 1–24, will include 16 teams. It will be the first-ever Riot-sponsored Valorant event held in South Korea. Additionally, it will only happen twice in the Asia-Pacific region overall; China will host the first one in 2024 with VCT Masters Shanghai, which will come just after the first International League split.

Asian VALORANT teams took longer to develop and perfect their distinct methods because Counter-Strike is a more well-liked game in Europe and the Americas. For instance, a few of the well-known figures of VCT Pacific are ex-Overwatch pros who now work as Valorant Pros.
