Astralis take over Series against MOUZ

Astralis have secured their first three points in ESL Pro League season 16’s Group C following a clean 2-0 victory against MOUZ. The Danes overall displayed better CSGO today after their shocking defeat to Complexity yesterday in the opening round of the group.

Not only did their tactical game plan look sharper, but all of their players contributed to the fragging department. Yet, the best Astralis player on the server was the AWPer Asger “Farlig” Jensen, who finished the series with a 51-24 K/D and 1.46 rating, on top of an impressive triple kill in the final round of Nuke to push his team over the finish line.

Farlig has been criticized for some lackluster performances since he arrived in Astralis in February 2022 and it has been reported that the organization is looking to bring Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz back. Still, today he gave fans a glimpse of what he can do if he plays more aggressively.

Astralis completely had MOUZ’ number on Inferno, despite it not being their map pick, and quickly closed out the game 16-7 after an impressive 7-1 victory on the T side in the second half. The game on Nuke offered much more of a threat as MOUZ won the first half by 11-4, but Astralis had a good CT side of their own to come back, thanks to also the impressive showings of Farlig and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke.

Heroic Convincingly took down ENCE

The Danish team didn’t go for any risks in the veto this time, after their Dust2 pick against MOUZ proved unfruitful. They picked into ENCE’s weakness of Ancient, this time winning their map pick with an impressive performance and closing out the game with a dominant 12-3 defensive half on Vertigo.

Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer began Ancient with a triple-kill in the pistol round, but ENCE were not able to build a big lead. Heroic won the first gun round of the game, gathering momentum to put themselves 6-2 up in no time. After their hot start, however, the Danes won just two more rounds, one of them being a 1vs2 clutch by TeSeS, as his team finished the half with a one-round lead.

ENCE won the Terrorist side pistol, putting themselves 10-8 up in quick fashion. A brawl ensued, with both teams pulling off their trademark aggressive pushes. ENCE were able to keep the lead throughout the opening exchanges, but the scores were soon tied up at 12-12. With both teams’ economies at breaking point, a chaotic round on B that included a 2vs3 retake by the Danes got them to match point that they converted on their first attempt.

Heroic began Vertigo where they left off, converting a pistol round win into a dominant CT side, as they went 7-0 up before ENCE were able to respond. The Danes continued their domination after just one round, winning the next few to go 11-1 up with the help of their suffocating A ramp holds. ENCE finished the half with some success, meaning the halftime score stood at 12-3.

ENCE got off to a much-needed good start on their CT side, winning the pistol and decreasing the deficit to five rounds. The teams then started to trade rounds, with Casper “cadiaN” Møller and Paweł “dycha” Dycha both winning a 1vs1 clutch. With the scoreline at 13-9, Rasmus “sjuush” Beck delivered a fantastic triple-kill round to break the economy of ENCE, with the map finishing 16-10 in Heroic’s favor.

Astralis vs Heroic Prediction

Sure, we could say that both teams are heading into this series in similar form, but in reality, Astralis have looked more solid in their single win so far. Heroic is not putting up the level we were expecting them to, even though they did score a victory over ENCE.

This is definitely going to be one of the closest matchups we’ve seen in group C so far, not only because of the history between these two teams but also because of their recent performances at the event. The last time these two teams faced off, Heroic had the upper hand and won convincingly in the Pinnacle Cup Championship finals. Unfortunately for them, their level is nowhere close to the one we saw at that tournament, which is why I expect Astralis to keep ramping up through the group stage, taking this series home.

The ESL Pro League Season 16 Group C is turning out to be more interesting than we were initially expecting. If you are interested in CSGO betting, don’t forget to bet on esports at BetUS Sportsbook & Casino. We’ve plenty of CSGO odds for you to consider.
