Damwon vs KT Rolster Predictions, Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks

KT Rolster is the most Dangerous Team in the Quarterfinals

This might sound like a crazy statement considering that there are teams like Liiv SANDBOX and DWG KIA playing in the first round of the playoffs too. But if we take a look at how KT has been performing throughout the last couple of weeks in the regular season, it’s somewhat hard to deny that they are the strongest team out of all the other 3 playing in the quarterfinals.

First, if we take into consideration how their series against LSB unfolded, then we can determine that they were the best team of the series, despite their defeat. They should’ve definitely beat Sandbox, but unfortunately, Rascal made that crucial mistake that gave LSB the opportunity to close out the game even though they were losing for the first 36 minutes of the game, with KT having a 10k+ gold advantage until that moment. KT had everything they needed to pick up the win, from vision to side lane control.

It’s fair to say that at this moment, KT is basically losing only to themselves, and their series against Gen.G is another great example. First of all, they have been the only ones capable of pulling-off such a dominant game against the current leaders of the LCK in the entire summer split. After seeing the outcome of game 2, a lot of League of Legends betting experts thought that KT would be winning the series, but they ended up shooting themselves in the foot.

The Nilah pick was so strange to see, especially because they paired that pick with Nami, which doesn’t make a lot of sense. KT drafted a 4 melee champion composition and gave Gen.G the perfect opportunity to draft champions like Ornn and Soraka, which are great into that type of drafts. Sure, they had a very disappointing game 3, but we are all still wondering what would’ve happened if they didn’t opt for a composition that doesn’t fit their playstyle at all.

Shotcalling is Damwon’s Biggest Issue

After almost beating Gen.G, there were a lot of speculations regarding who was going to be Damwon’s starting support. On one hand, Kellin was the one playing through the majority of the regular season, but once they swapped in Bible, the team looked very different, and I mean in a positive way. Before starting for DWG, a lot of LCK experts were talking very highly of Bible, calling him the “brain” of Damwon, and it made a lot of sense.

This summer split hasn’t been good at all for Damwon. We could say that a top-4 finish is more than great for almost every team in the league, but not for this one. After bringing back Nuguri, there were a lot of expectations for this squad just because one of the best top triangles in the history of League of Legends (Nuguri, Canyon, Showmaker) was back together. But times have changed now, and it’s not all about individual skill anymore.

Throughout the first round of the regular season, Nuguri was the top laner with the highest FWD%, and that wasn’t necessarily a good thing. He was dying way too often because of his mispositioning and that cost Damwon a lot of games. If we pair that with the fact that Canyon and Showmaker are having one of their worst splits of their careers, then it’s easy to see why this team has failed to see the success a lot of people expected.

The LCK is in a really exciting state right now, with LSB and KT putting up great fights against the very best teams in the league. On the other hand, DWG KIA and DRX have failed to meet the expectations, but this gives a lot of room for the newer players to show their potential. There is still a lot of series left to be played in the LCK playoffs and we’ll be posting a lot of esports picks throughout the tournament, so make sure to check them out!

I’m 100% confident that KT Rolster is going to be able to pick up the win once again. Let’s not forget that the last time these two teams met, KT completely dismantled DWG KIA, and it happened on Week 7, which wasn’t too long ago. The only way I see Damwon having a chance in this series is if somehow Deokdam completely plays out of his mind and takes over the bot lane. The rest of the map is heavily favored towards KT, and yes, I’m talking about the top triangle.

Cuzz has gone under the radar for quite a while now, but he’s been a huge part in KT’s success recently. Vicla is also playing really good League of Legends, while Showmaker seems to have lost his identity as he is now rarely winning lane and often falls behind when it comes to roaming around the map.
