DPlus Head Into The 2023 Season As Strong Candidates For The Title
In case you didn’t know, Damwon KIA rebranded as DPlus KIA earlier in January, and even though a lot of people seem to dislike the new name/logo, it’s still one of the strongest teams in the league.
Not only did they change a couple of their players, but they are also bringing in a new coaching staff. Two legendary ex-professional players, Acorn and GorillA, join the DK lineup as coaches.
DK decided to drop one of their signature players, Nuguri, who failed to meet expectations during the 2022 season. Former NS top laner Canna will be replacing him, and I really like this change. In case you are not familiar with Canna, he is definitely someone you can rely on if you are looking for a carry top laner.
Alongside Canna, world champion Deft will be joining the DK lineup. This raised a lot of questions, mainly because Deokdam was an incredibly solid ADC. It’s still too early to tell if this was a good move or not, but we can’t deny that Deft is one of the most consistent bot laners in the LCK
Can BeryL Lead DRX To Glory Once Again?

After winning the 2022 World Championship, it was very obvious that DRX was not going to be able to keep the roster together. Both Kingen and Zeka overperformed on the international stage, which meant that a lot of different orgs would try to buy them out, and that’s exactly what happened.
While DRX’s 2023 roster isn’t the worst in the league, they’ll once again rely on a couple of their players pulling off unexpected performances. Even though Rascal and Croco have great games every once in a while, they are also the type of players that can lose games on their own.
I think that FATE will have a lot of responsibility within the team. He is not your typical carry mid laner as he focuses mostly on roaming and enabling his teammates. From what we’ve seen in the LPL so far, champions like Ryze and Galio are being heavily prioritized, and that might play in FATE’s favor.

DPlus KIA vs DRX Picks & Prediction
Dplus KIA has a good lineup, a lot of experience, and a knowledgeable coaching staff. Many players, including Hanwha Life Esports’ jungler Clid, KT Rolster’s support Lehends, and DRX’s top laner Rascal, believe DK will be the strongest candidate for the throne this season.
I think that DRX’s roster will take a few weeks to start ramping up. In fact, I predict that they’ll go 0-2 in the first week, considering that they’ll be going up against DK and Gen.G, two of the strongest candidates to win the title.
On the other hand, DK has an incredibly solid lineup. We already talked about Canna and Deft, but we can’t forget about Canyon and Showmaker, the duo that keeps on giving year after year. I expect this game to be fully in control for DK, and I don’t think they’ll drop a single map here.
