Edward Gaming vs Victory5 Predictions, Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks, July 10
It’s a weekend full of bangers in the LPL as 4 of the very best teams battle it out against each other, and we got you covered with our esports picks. On Saturday, we have Top Esports vs Royal Never Give Up, which is the spring split grand finals rematch. Sunday will feature a clash between the reigning world champions Edward Gaming and Victory5, the only team that hasn’t dropped a single series so far this split.
Rookie is Ready for Some Action
While V5 fell short in the loser bracket semifinals against Top Esports last split, now they are looking to take the competition by storm as they’ve managed to win 7 series in a row, and they did it without using their main mid laner. Before the split began, there was a rumor running around that said V5 never intended to play with Rookie throughout the first month of the competition. And to be fair, their academy mid laner, Dream, performed quite well in all of their games, but a month has passed already, and Rookie is back on the field.

The last time we saw Song “Rookie” Eui-jin play was back in their series against Top Esports, and frankly, he didn’t look great, but neither did the rest of his teammates. Throughout the whole regular season, Rookie was considered the absolute best mid laner in the league. Not only did he get 10 MVP Awards, but he also claimed the weekly award a couple of times, but most importantly, he got recognized as the MVP of the whole league, which is quite hard to achieve in Lol bets full of extremely talented players.
We still don’t know in what kind of form Rookie will arrive, but considering that he is going up against the world champions, the expectations are really high. Scout will be his lane opponent, and as a player, he is nothing to scoff at. Lee “Scout” Ye-chan was the player that picked up the highest number of MVP awards last split with 11, just 1 more than Rookie. The thing is that both mid laners used to play in a very different way, and from what we’ve seen so far, Scout isn’t looking that hot.
Edward Gaming Comes off a Disappointing Loss Against OMG

First of all, this Edward Gaming is not the same dominant EDG we saw in 2021, though it’s still disappointing to see them lose against a lower-rated team. And I’m not talking exclusively about the summer split, they didn’t have a good time in the spring split either. Another important thing to keep in mind is that, besides JDG and WBG, the 2021 world champions haven’t faced any other team from the top-half of the standings.
EDG have some of their toughest matches remaining, but that might not be a bad thing after all. It’s going to take some time for this team to ramp up, I mean, they don’t have any other choice. If this is the final form of EDG, then it is bad news for them as they are far from looking like a strong contender for the summer title.
Right now their playstyle is very similar to the one from Top Esports this split, though their individual firepower is a bit lower. They mostly prefer having neutral objective control rather than drafting around a strong laning phase. I think that the main reason for this is Scout’s champion pool. His priority seems to be playing champions like Corki, Viktor, and Azir, and it isn’t bad per se, but if you look at how the other best mid laners are playing, it’s quite different.
Lissandra is a favorite within the top LPL mid laners like Xiaohu and Knight. While Scout already picked her a couple of times, he doesn’t look nearly as comfortable as he does on other champions. His priority on Twisted Fate seems to have lowered considerably as it’s now Edward Gaming the ones banning that champion and not their opponents. It’s still too early to tell, but the meta might be the main reason why EDG seems so uncomfortable in most of their games.

Edward Gaming vs Victory5 Predictions
The most important thing about this match is going to be just how prepared Rookie is for his comeback. Yeah, he was an absolute beast last split, but we’ve seen time and time again how much a break might affect players, and that’s something to consider for your league of legends bets. Luckily for him, he is going up against a Scout that doesn’t seem to be a threat to many mid laners right now.
If Karsa and Rookie can find their groove early on in their games, there is no doubt that Victory5 is going to have the upper hand. My only concern for them is if for some reason EDG ends up getting a perfect draft for them, where they neutralize V5’s bot triangle. But other than that, I see Victory5 scoring a win in their books without much trouble.
We’ve plenty of League of legends betting for you to consider.
