G2 Esports vs Team Vitality June 15, Predictions, Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds & Picks

The Blast Spring Finals 2022 has Arrived!

This tournament will feature some of the strongest names in the European region, and while teams like Cloud9 and Heroic won’t be participating, winning this event means a lot.

For our first esports picks of the Blast Spring Finals 2022, we’ll be covering the G2 Esports versus Team Vitality match, which could dictate a lot in group A.

Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, player for G2 Esports

These teams are fighting for share of the $425,000 USD prize pool, and the winner of the tournament will get a spot in the Blast Premier World Final 2022, which is one of the biggest events of the whole year as it will feature the very best teams in the world and a $1,000,000 USD prize pool.

Team Vitality and G2 Esports have one thing in common. Both teams are made up of mostly superstars and even have some of the best players in the world in their lineups, but the interesting part about all of this is that both have failed to meet the expectations recently.

G2 came out on top the last time they played against each other, but in this tournament, Vitality might turn things around in their favor.

G2 is Less Than the Sum of Their Parts

Nemanja “Hunter” Kovač, player for G2 Esports

Or that’s what it feels like, and that’s just if we consider that Nikola “NiKo” Kovač is currently one of the best players in the world. It’s been a while since we’ve seen G2 reach the finals at a big event, almost 4 months to be exact.

IEM Katowice was the last tournament where they managed to go all the way to the grand finals, and they picked up a 0-3 loss against FaZe. Since then, G2 has been struggling to maintain their form as they have been knocked out of tournaments by weaker teams. FURIA has been G2’s nightmare for the past couple of months as the Brazilian squad eliminated G2 at both the IEM Dallas and the PGL Major Antwerp in a very frustrating manner.

It’s hard to pinpoint G2’s biggest issue but we can be sure of one thing, as of recently, their T-side has been questionable, to say the least. This was very clear during IEM Dallas, where NiKo’s rating on CT-side went all the way up to 1.52, but dropped down to 0.97 on T-side, which is quite significant.

There is another important thing to consider for G2 in this tournament. The Blast Spring Finals will put Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen under the microscope as his in-game leadership has raised many questions for csgo betting experts. It’s well-known that NiKo is hard to control as he’s been doing whatever he pleases.

We’re already in the middle of 2022 and G2 is facing almost the same issues they have been facing since the beginning of the year, and unless Aleksib starts switching things around, the rest of the year is looking doomed for them.

Is Zywoo the Key to Victory for Team Vitality?

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, AWPer for Team Vitality

That’s the main question for many csgo bets fans when it comes to the French squad. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut has been the most consistent member in the lineup for quite a while now, and the stats speak truth to it.

If Vitality wants to pick up their first win of the tournament against G2, the 21-year-old French AWPer will have to put up an excellent performance from the get-go. And to be fair, that should not be a problem for him because he demolished G2 the last time they met at a Blast event.

It’s somewhat disheartening to see a team with names like Magisk, Dupreeh, and Apex constantly struggle in the most important moments. Just like G2, this team is made up of superstars and somehow ends up putting up a disappointing performance at big events. So far this year, the Team Vitality organization has failed to lift a trophy up, and if things keep going this way, we won’t see them doing it any time soon.

Maybe what the team is missing is just that big important win in order to gain back the confidence they’ve been lacking for a while, though that seems a tough challenge at the moment. I do believe that Zywoo can be the determining factor for his team in this tournament, and I think that we’ll get to see that from the very beginning.

G2 Esports vs Team Vitality Predictions

The last time these two teams played against each other, which was at the recent IEM Dallas 2022, G2 completely dismantled Vitality. With an aggregate of 32-21, G2 demonstrated that if they find their groove early on in the match, they can just roll over a Vitality that is looking very uncoordinated.

But Vitality has something going their way, and it’s the fact that this is a Blast event, which they seem to love considering their results at these events. Out of their last 3 encounters against G2, Vitality has won 2 of those, and both times were at a Blast event. Zywoo was a key member in those matches, and I think that this time we’ll see a similar story.

G2 might have the biggest potential out of these 2 teams, but we have to consider how Vitality has been able to take them down consistently at Blast events. Just like in the past, the cs-go odds are against them, but Vitality is going to trust Zywoo in this encounter and he’ll dominate the opposition and score the first win for his team in the tournament.
