Looking to prove everyone wrong
Upsets can certainly happen, especially at Worlds. We have seen the likes of DRX beat a prime T1 back in 2022, TPA winning the event in Season 2, and even G2 almost fulfilling the Grand Slam, however nothing compares to this matchup.

It’s no secret Flyquest and North America as a whole found themselves in this position thanks to the new format. Nevertheless, it is the best chance the LCS has ever had to push themselves for the first time into the semifinals of a Worlds tournament. The real question is, what can they do to pull it off?
Cheese, that is the answer. Their series versus HLE fully showcased that if a team gets caught off guard in the draft, anyone can win. From Nunu, to Amumu, and even Darius, Flyquest has looked at every possible surprise they can pick in order to have an advantage. To be fair it has worked better than expected, as the LCS Champions record a 56% win rate at Worlds. Odds stand at a massive 10.82 for Flyquest to make America proud.
Easiest path to the semifinals
On paper Gen.G could have not hoped for an easier opponent in the quarterfinals. However, they still have to avoid giving into Flyquest’s draft shenanigans if they want to close things out cleanly. Korea’s #2 seed will have to stay focused on the objective, play by the book.

Chovy and company record an incredible 80% win rate, but a negative -312 gold differential before 15 minutes. This would be important to note if they face a squad that thrives in the early game, but Flyquest stands at a -670 gold differential in the same period. Nevertheless, Gen.G could use this opportunity to try new strategies and gather some momentum before facing tougher opponents later in the competition.
There has been a clear need for Chovy and Canyon to play proactive champions such as Ahri and Nocturne, as the other 3 members don’t seem to have the instinct to pull the trigger in clutch situations. Thus expect the likes of Yone, Sejuani, and even Twisted Fate to appear in this series. Odds stand at a low 1.02 to win the series, for obvious reasons.
