Close but no cigar
T1 fell to Dplus KIA in their last Regional Finals series, which meant their last chance to defend their Worlds title was down to the current matchup against KT Rolster. Faker and company managed to push DKIA into the fifth game of the series, where AIming went absolutely ballistic on Miss Fortune, ultimately carrying DKIA into Worlds 2024.

It was an extremely close series, however a single mistake during teamfights was more than enough to run with the entire game. As usual T1 managed to come out on top during the laning phase, with an average of +477 gold by 15 minutes, however this did not translate into a mid game advantage most of the time. Showmaker’s Tristana and Aimings Ziggs were enough to stabilize the series, with T1 constantly walking towards the carries after missing their engagement chances.
It has been a tiring 2024 for a shaky T1, after several tough postseason series against HLE and Gen.G, we don’t expect the Korean juggernauts to have enough fuel in the tank to see this one through. Odds stand at -212 for T1 to win this series.
The best chance for a return to Worlds
It has been a while since KT has managed to perform well at an international level, this year they have a decent experienced core to do so. Their series versus FearX finished with the expected outcome (3-0), however the first match showed us KT still has some issues to fix. The first encounter of the best of five series lasted a staggering 44 minutes, with both sides piloting compositions that could easily scale into the late game.

Nevertheless, after taking game 1 KT realized their mistakes and quickly fixed them, finishing the next 2 matches at 30 minutes. Strong performances from Bdd and Deft with Yone and Jhin respectively was enough to push them one step closer to Worlds 2024. Something important to keep in mind is that KT is not an aggressive side and this was confirmed on their last series as well, recording a 33.3% First Blood rate plus an average of 4 plates before 15 minutes.
Ultimately if T1 manages to be overly aggressive and run away with it before 15 minutes KT might be in trouble, but if they sustain the pressure early on, their experienced map movement will buy them a ticket for Worlds 2024. Odds stand at +168 for KT to win the series.
