Misfits are the Kings of this Dimension
As a team, Misfits has been often judged as a one-dimensional team, but that seems to be working in their favor now. Their playstyle is currently one of the strongest in the LEC, and it feels really strange to say it, but Misfits have a good shot at making worlds if they are able to keep the ball rolling. Bringing Zanzarah it was a perfect move by the Misfits organization as they haven’t lost a single game with him on the roster.
It’s really weird to see Misfits in this position, considering how inconsistent they were earlier in the year. They used to rely completely on Vetheo, and while he is still a huge part of their success, Misfits has found a perfect way of playing the game that fits every single one of their players. Martin Lynge, Director of Misfits, tweeted: “I will just say that I’m very happy with what we did in the last two years with the 8th-9th budget (inches from Worlds, 4th place last split, LFL champions“. It’s incredible to see that a team that has the 2nd lowest budget in the LEC has managed to pull off this kind of run.
Misfits seem to be benefiting from this meta where you can simply survive the early game and then roll over the opposition using good team fight execution. Let’s not forget that Vetheo and Neo are absolute beasts when it comes to outplaying their counterparts. As long as Misfits can get their hands on picks like Yuumi, Ornn, and Trundle, which allows them to scale well into the late game, they will continue on being one of the strongest teams in the LEC.
Fnatic’s Issues come from Execution
It’s easy to blame a team’s bad performance on things like draft and planning, but that’s not the case for Fnatic. Their drafts have been one of the bests in the league, and it’s hard to deny that. Remember when Fnatic went for a Caitlyn Morgana bot lane and absolutely rolled over the early game? Yeah, me too. I also remember that they weren’t capable enough of using the huge lead they had to transition into a strong mid-late game position. It seems that Fnatic’s downfall stems from their early game.
Razork and Humanoid are completely out of it. They are playing completely differently from what we were used to seeing during the spring split. Their communication seems to be heavily lacking. Humanoid is dying to very easy ganks in the early game. Their last game against Excel is the one that comes to mind. Humanoid playing on Vex dying multiple times to early ganks when the enemies walked through Fnatic’s vision should give you an idea of what I’m talking about.
Fnatic needs to find a way to circumvent their biggest weakness, which is their early game. Unless they manage to do this, I don’t see Fnatic putting up a good fight against the top teams. And if we are being completely honest, it wouldn’t be that crazy to see Fnatic missing playoffs due to their inconsistency. They haven’t managed to have a single 2-0 week throughout the regular season and they are now sitting on a 7-8 record, which is a scary position to be in.

Misfits vs Fnatic Predictions
This LEC super week is going to be an insane one. There are going to be a lot of upsets happening, but this isn’t going to be the case. Misfits is the favorite team heading into this match. And it’s not only because of their recent form but because they are playing much better than Fnatic and the meta seems to be in their favor.
Fnatic’s story is a tragic one. I remember when we used to be hyped about their improvement throughout the spring split, but none of that matters now. The reality is that Humanoid and co. have failed to live up to the expectations and are now at risk of missing playoffs.
Vetheo and Zanzarah complement each other very well, and in this case, they are the better mid-jungle duo. As long as Zanzarah can get his hands on a pick like Trundle or Poppy, he should be able to dominate the jungle matchup. It should be a matter of time until Neo and Vetheo can simply take over the game, and considering that Fnatic is their opponent, it shouldn’t take that long.
