PaiN Gaming vs Red Canids Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds, Picks & Predictions

CBLOL 2022 Split 1 Grand Finals

PaiN Gaming and Red Canids will meet in the CBLOL 2022 Split 1 Grand Finals at the CBLOL Arena in São Paulo, Brazil. The two teams head into this match after defeating KaBuM! e-Sports, PNG took them down in the winners’ bracket semifinals, and then RED knocked them out in the losers’ bracket. Red Canids had a harder time against KBM than PaiN Gaming did, they even lost the first game of the series and then managed to win three in a row, while PaiN Gaming didn’t lose a single one.

It’s interesting to see how both PNG and RED ended up playing each other in the finals, considering that they came into the playoffs as 3rd and 4th seeds. PaiN Gaming didn’t have the best regular split and they were one game away from being left out of the playoffs, now they arrive at the grand finals as the heavy favorites to win it all according to the lol odds.

Choi “Wizer” Eui-seok, Top Laner for PaiN Gaming

PaiN Gaming Early Aggression is Top Notch

When it comes to early game leads, PaiN Gaming knows perfectly how to take advantage of them. They are currently scoring positive in every single @15 stat, from gold difference and CS to tower difference and drakes. They are one of the teams with the best early games in the CBLOL and this can be attributed to their top laner’s performance so far. Wizer has been showing the best performance of any top laner in the league by far, he ranks #1 in CSD@15 (15) and XPD@15 (389), which means that he is on average almost a whole level ahead of his opponent and the scary thing is that no one is even close to matching his stats.

The way that PaiN Gaming gets those early leads is something that doesn’t come only from individual performance. Their drafts are heavily-oriented towards champions with a strong lane presence. For example, in their last series against KBM, they always had a support pick with strong engaging tools and a jungler with good diving capabilities like Xin Zhao and Volibear. If you match this with Wizer’s counter picks like Lucian and Kennen against Gnar, it’s easy to tell why KBM had no chance against them as many league of legends betting experts would tell you.

Titan Remains One of the Best ADCs in Brazil

“TitaN” Lima dos Santos, ADC for Red Canids

We’ve seen Titan on multiple occasions at the international stage and he’s always had the spotlight on him. He is leading the DPM (606) and DMG% (31.1) charts, has the highest number of solo kills amongst the ADCs in playoffs, and he scored a pentakill during his series against KBM in game 2. Red Canids dependence on Titan’s performance is very clear and this is reflected in the way they draft. RED is usually running strong teamfight compositions with a solid front-to-back, this gives Titan the opportunity to shine.

The best thing Red Canids got going for them is how they play as a unit, none of the solo laners need a big amount of resources so they can focus on putting Titan in a comfortable position. The biggest challenge for Red Canids this series is going to be in the top lane, Guigo isn’t necessarily a weak top laner, but he is often in the losing position and if Pain Gaming directs a few bans towards his champion pool, he might struggle a lot against Wizer.

Predictions

The head-to-head is a 1-1 draw between the two teams but PaiN Gaming was the team that came out on top the last time they met each other. In their last encounter, Wizer completely rolled over the entire Red Canids squad, he had a perfect score on Tryndamere and he was an unstoppable force.

While Titan can be a strong carry for Red Canids, I think that the rest of the map goes in favor of PaiN Gaming, especially the solo lanes. DyNquedo and Wizer have such a strong lane presence and they play extremely well in coordination with their jungler Cariok. I expect the top lane difference to be the main reason why PaiN Gaming will take the series home and claim the CBLOL Split 1 title in a very convincing manner for our esports picks.

Pick: paiN Gaming to win at -164
