Rainbow7 vs Estral Esports Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds, Picks & Predictions

R7, The LLA’s first place team, begins its playoff journey against an inconsistent Estral Esports squad.

The LLA Playoffs Kick Off!

After 7 weeks of hectic games we’re ready for the LLA 2022 Spring Playoffs which start off one of the most anticipated matchups of the split for fans and esports betting experts alike, Rainbow7 against Estral Esports.

Rainbow7 comes in as the strongest team in the league, dropping just a single game during the regular season while dealing with a roster change in the middle of the split. all of this while still being able to dominate the competition. On the flip side, Estral Esports enters the playoffs as the 4th seed and as a shaky squad that hasn’t been able to meet the expectations of the fans, the Mexican squad is looking to return to their peak form against none other than the final boss of the LLA.

Rainbow7’s Best Split in LLA’s History

If we look back at R7’s performance this split we can safely say it has been their best split in the history of the competition. With an average game duration of 32 minutes and 44 seconds they scored 13 victories and lost a single match against Xten Esports during the 4th week of the LLA.

Last week while facing Infinity, Rainbow7 had a slow-paced game where they gathered the amount of 400~ GD@15, which might not seem like a lot, but considering that R7 has a 90.9% WR when ahead at 15 minutes, R7 was in a comfortable position to beat the former LLA champions. Playing around an oppressive bot lane and using Ahri to play around picks and dives helped make Infinity feel unsafe around the map after the 15 minute mark which in turn gave R7 a convincing victory.

R7’s stats are impressive, having the highest average K/D (2.13), GPM (1919), FB% (71.4), DRA% (59.6) and GD@15 (2087), shows how they’re able dominate in every aspect of the game and not rely solely on their mechanical prowess, but also by playing around objectives and using their strong early game presence to transition into huge leads by the time the mid game arrives.

Estral Esports’ Chance for Redemption

This split hasn’t been the best for Estral Esports and the reason for their underwhelming performance is pretty disappointing. Unfortunately for them, they ended up dropping games to the teams that currently sit at the bottom of the scoreboard, which granted them an unfortunate 4th place.

They’re coming from a big loss against Isurus, in which they opted for a strong early game draft but didn’t manage to amass enough advantage to handle Isurus’ long range/pick-up composition. Having a -1.2k GD@15 when your lineup consists of strong laners is something that raises a lot of concerns. When Estral managed to start neutral objectives the enemy jungler ended up stealing them, this was due to them not being able to set up a proper engage and Isurus taking advantage of this.

On the bright side, Estral has shown that despite having the lowest FB% of the entire league (35.7%), they can accumulate good early leads, putting them in 2nd place when it comes to  GD@15 (1382), right behind Rainbow7. Largely, this is due to the fact that their jungler Grell acts as the main carry, having the highest KP% (78.9) and GD@15 (516) of all the junglers in the league and providing his team with a second breathe of life if case their laners fall behind early in the game.

Rainbow7 vs Estral Esports Predictions

Rainbow7 is the leader in the head-to-head with a 2-0 score. Their last encounter was only 25 minutes long and in that time they managed to get 20 kills against Estral’s measly 4 kills.

Javier Villareal, Estral’s general manager, made the following statement in a recent interview after their loss against Isurus: “We have our backs against the wall, but it’s not as bad as it might look… the players are holding their heads up high, they have a positive mindset and that gives up hope”.

The potential that Grell and Bvoy have when it comes to carrying the team is undeniable and they might have a chance to stand up against Oddie and Ceo, but the way Rainbow7 works as a unit is the main point to consider when looking at the LoL odds R7’s mid laner Cepted, has shown the ability to play any type of champion and be successful at it. Cepted doesn’t rely on acting as the main carry and he can play champions like Galio and TF, functioning as an enabler for the rest of his team.

I can see Estral catching Rainbow7 off guard and managing to snatch one win at best, but if we consider that R7 can play around any lane then it’s safe to say they have the capability to adapt with ease during a best of 5 series and go home with a victory in their books and allowing us to hit the map advantage market comfortably in this match for our esports picks
