Rascal Jesters vs Sengoku Gaming Match Preview, Live Stream, Odds, Picks & Predictions

The Series That Decides The Last Finalist

During round 2 of the LJL 2022 Spring Split playoffs, Rascal Jesters dropped the first game of their series against Burning Core, a team that is considered one of the weakest in playoffs, luckily for RJ the rest of the series went as expected and won 3 games in a row. Sengoku Gaming arrives into the 3rd round of playoffs after losing 0 to 3 against the DetonatioN FocusMe squad, the strongest team this split by far.

Is Sengoku Gaming’s improvement over the last weeks of the regular split enough to reach finals? It’s not easy to answer, while Sengoku did show that they improved significantly, their series against DFM left a lot to wish for. On the other hand, Rascal Jester did their best to close their series against BC but they still managed to lose one game, maybe this is what Sengoku needed to have a real insight on how to play against the Rascal Jesters. Keep reading to learn which side we will back for our esports picks.

The Jester’s Reliance on Ssol’s Performance

Ssol is arguably the best ADC in the LJL so far, he ranks #1 in the DPM (663), DMG% (37.5), and KP% (80.7) categories amongst all the ADCs in the league, but during their series against Burning Core, the Jesters didn’t necessarily rely only on Ssol like they have used to in the past. Their mid laner Recap performed solidly throughout the 4 games and achieved the highest KDA (6.6) of all the players. Rascal Jesters might feel a bit more comfortable now that Recap stepped up and with the aid of hachamecha, they can secure early leads.

If we take a closer look at how that game 1 went, Rascal Jesters decided to pull off an unorthodox bot lane, Senna and Sion, but it didn’t do much for them, maybe they were just testing the waters. Burning Core was using a really aggressive composition, with picks like Nocturne and Leona they had a lot of engage tools, and due to Rascal Jester’s mistakes during the first minutes of the game around the top part of the map, Burning Core was able to contest early neutral objectives.

Sengoku Gaming’s Last Chance to Perform

After losing 0 to 3 against DFM, Sengoku Gaming only has one more chance to maintain themselves in the competition and reach the finals. The spring split has been a rollercoaster for Sengoku Gaming, where they started hovering the 4th and 5th place but as the split progressed they racked enough wins to tie 3rd place with the Rascal Jesters. This might work as a huge motivation boost for the team considering that most people don’t picture them as contenders for the title.

Unlike many other teams in the League of Legends Japanese League, SG doesn’t primarily rely on one individual’s performance to come out ahead in their games. Sengoku Gaming works more as a unit and this is reflected in their statistics, almost all of their members rank #1 in their respective roles when it comes to the average kill participation %, this is supported by their playstyle in general where they don’t play strong early-game lane-winning compositions and simply draft around champions that work well when together.

Rascal Jesters vs Sengoku Gaming Predictions

The current head-to-head is in favor of Sengoku Gaming with a score of 2-1, and the games that SG won were surprisingly one-sided even against the lol odds. On the other hand, the game the Jesters crowned was not as decisive as we might have thought. Sengoku Gaming’s playstyle is almost like Rascal Jester’s kryptonite because they can play an early game solid enough to the point where they don’t allow Ssol’s carry potential to shine.

Sengoku Gaming has shown a big improvement in their players and their gameplay in general, while Rascal Jesters is one of the oldest teams, I think this time the underdog will come out ahead thanks to Once and Jett’s willingness to play around the entire map and give their team enough space to transition into the late game where they perform the best. This won’t be an easy series to predict for any league of legends betting experts, but I do think that Sengoku Gaming will take the series home even if the odds are in favor of the Rascal Jesters.
