DPlus Dominated In Week Of 2023 LCK Spring Split
Last week, T1 and Gen.G’s first LCK match was an explosive one. Now, T1 will have to contend with the other LCK heavyweights, DPlus KIA, in week 2. The LCK Spring Split has now seen two victories for T1 and DK.
On the one hand, T1 destroyed Gen.G and defeated KT Rolster in the telecom war. However, even if both series were won, T1 would still trail DK in the rankings because of the game they lost to KT. T1’s draft was to blame because the team comp didn’t have enough damage to win the game. They ended up playing a similar combination in the second game of the series and prevailed owing to the Orianna choice.
On the other hand, DK has taken down its first two adversaries, LSB and DRX, with relative ease. Even if the first two competitors weren’t as formidable as the ones from T1 in week 1, they were always in charge from the beginning to the end of the match, which demonstrates that Dplus KIA is ready to compete.
Can T1 Neutralize Canna In The Top Lane?
As both teams appear to be above the rest of the competition, the series is likely to become a key highlight and a series that decides the split. The bottom lane will probably be crucial to any team’s victory because whomever can start a snowball will win the series.
DK appears to have a more reliable bot lane based on what we’ve seen thus far. While Deft and Kellin consistently displayed strength throughout the series against KT Rolster, Gumayusi and Keria occasionally displayed odd behavior. Having said that, DK appears to have the players who perform better in every role besides the bot lane, including the top lane.
Current top laner Canna has demonstrated that 2022 was simply a horrible year overall after a spectacular performance in week 1. In practically every teamfight, his Gnar was the victor, throwing several opponents against the wall and killing Rascal by himself.
It appears that T1 won’t be able to discover ways to punish him given his current form. Given this, T1’s main chances of winning will be dependent entirely on draft and cooperation. Unfortunately for them, DK appears to be an unstoppable force set to seize control of the LCK and too powerful in their current state.
