An Important Rematch For 1st Place
In week 5 of the LCK Spring Split, T1 and Gen.G will face each other once again. Having tied T1 in the standings, can Gen.G defeat T1?
After a sluggish start to their 2023 campaign, Gen.G began to push harder and harder. As of now, they are 6-2 and only one victory behind T1. We should probably anticipate a much closer series than the 2-0 stomp we saw at the start of the season now that the two teams will meet again in the second round robin.
We can now clearly see the GenG’s rationale for promoting rookie Peyz to the starting lineup in particular. Peyz has been constantly progressing and serving as the team’s primary damage dealer, often carrying Gen. G during teamfights in the closing stages of the game.
Having said that, there might be a little bit more ambiguity than anticipated given that the LCK is entering Patch 13.3. Peyz has primarily been used against Zeri and Lucian; now that other ADC champions have received buffs, it will be interesting to see how he adjusts.
Which Team Benefits More From Patch 13.3

The patch shift will have a big impact on the series because the person who gets the superior meta read will undoubtedly have a big edge. Faker is accustomed to roaming across lanes to help snowball his side lanes, whereas T1 appears more at ease playing more actively on the map. Generally speaking, Keria on the engage supports and Gumayusi on classic crit ADCs are more at ease.
The junglers, though, will be crucial to the outcome of the game. Despite having distinct roles in their respective games, Peanut and Oner are noted for being highly aggressive early on.
By handling the engage and picks, Oner fills a much more supportive role. Peanut, on the other hand, plays bruisers a lot more frequently and is significantly more damage-oriented. It’s unclear if they will continue with this arrangement, but it’s certain that the two will have a significant impact on how the series turns out.

T1 vs Gen.G Picks and Prediction
Compared to the season opener, this series is expected to be much closer overall. Gen.G have undoubtedly improved over the course of the spring split, thus a banger match is certain. However, T1 still appears to be the superior team, therefore T1 will probably gain more from the upcoming patch.
This series is essential to the split for both sides. If T1 can defeat Gen.G, they could end up being the top seed in the LCK at the conclusion of the regular split. Instead, if Gen.G triumphs, there will be a two-way battle for first place in the standings.
