TES’ first match at Worlds 2024 was actually against T1, fair to say this matchup was not for the faint of heart. T1 went absolutely ballistic the entire game, consistently dominating the weak early game champions TES selected during the draft phase. However a single teamfight where Jackeylove’s Jhin was not focused netted him a quadra kill, after that everything went right for the Chinese squad.
It has been a weird schedule for them, after T1 they lost to Gen.G (as expected), thus they were in a possible tie break situation. Fnatic came in with high hopes but got absolutely smashed in 24 minutes, thanks to Creme’s Yone, this ultimately forced the tie breaker fixture. It was all or nothing, and their opponent was an up and coming Dplus KIA squad. Similar to the series versus T1, they struggled early on but ultimately managed to capitalize during neutral objective teamfights, sweeping and sending the Korean squad back home.
The key for Top Esports this time around will be early game consistency, T1 has been improving massively but they are still getting picked around the map before 15 minutes. TES records a 75% win ratio when ahead in gold and experience before 15 minutes. Odds stand at 1.92 for Jackeylove and company to take the series.

It’s no secret T1 receives a weird Worlds buff every single year, thus for most analysts they are still favorites for this series. Nevertheless, we are going to play somewhat of a devil advocate, as there are clear signs T1 might lose this series. Confidence is an insidious killer, and T1 knows this first hand.
The Korean juggernauts have performed admirably after their original loss versus TES. Recording an 80% win ratio in the tournament, and most notably a +2225 gold differential by 15 minutes. Everything looks good until now, but do remember similar statistics were present in the 2022 Worlds Finals, where they ultimately lost to the underdogs DRX.
Of course T1 still has Faker, probably the most focused esports player of all time. Thus the Korean squad can always turn things around, especially with the extra time they had to prepare for this series. Odds stand at 1.77 for T1 to advance into the semifinals.
