Scottie Scheffler Leads Masters as Tiger Woods Fades in Third Round
Takes 3-Shot Advantage into Final Round over Cameron Smith
There will be no miracle victory in Tiger Woods’s return to golf at the 2022 Masters. However, the woods did play a huge role in adding to the drama for Sunday’s final round.
First, Tiger Woods.
Augusta National caught up to the five-time winner of the green jacket on Saturday. Most of the damage happened over the final three holes, where Woods went bogey-bogey-double bogey to wind up at 78 and 223, 16 strokes behind third-round leader Scottie Scheffler.

Tiger, who couldn’t help but laugh at his performance: “I was hitting too many putts. It was like putting practice. I hit like 1,000 putts out there… I had absolutely zero feel for the greens, and it showed.”https://t.co/9afLjtR05L

Scheffler shot a 71 and is at 207 after major trouble on 18. Scheffler came to the hole with a four-shot lead but his first shot hit the trees and wound up in an unplayable area.
After a 10-minute delay, Scheffler took a drop and lying three hit a difficult shot. A couple of shots later and he had a bogey. The lead is three shots over Cameron Smith, who sits at 210 after shooting a 68.
