Berger Bounce-Back at Honda Classic?
Thursday Tee-Off at PGA National Resort and Spa
The next stop on the PGA Tour is the Honda Classic. The event, which begins Thursday, has been won by the likes of Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Rickie Fowler.
An even field is presented to bettors, where past champion Sungjae Im headlines the field. However, he’ll have some stiff competition.

The sportsbook has value odds available for the Honda Classic.
Berger Bounce Back
It’s rare to see Daniel Berger miss the cut, but we expect the American to bounce back from his poor Phoenix Open effort.
The four-time PGA Tour winner has yet to show his best form in 2022. He was a Ryder Cup competitor, and might have needed time to recover.
It was a long, arduous 2021 for the 28-year-old Berger. There’s only improvement in store, and his past results at the Honda Classic make for good reading.
Berger was beaten in a playoff in 2015, so he knows the course well. He has since won the FedEx St. Jude (twice), the Charles Schwab Challenge and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
He’s struggled with back problems, but feels good to go.
“I took the time that I didn’t play and I worked on my body and I got the treatment and did the stuff in the gym that I needed to do and I’m thankful for it because now I feel better and I’m ready to go,” Berger told PGATour.com.
“You have a long season ahead of you,, and you have to think about events in the future and I didn’t want to do something that was going to make it harder for me to come back in the weeks going ahead… but I’m glad I’m back now.”
Golf betting odds have Berger on the second line of wagering at +1600. He has beaten tougher fields throughout his career, so bettors are getting a value price.

Pick: Daniel Berger (+1600)
Im Gunning for Double
South Korean star Sungjae Im scored his breakthrough win in the 2020 Honda Classic, and we like his chances.
He added the Shriners Children’s Open in 2021 to his tally, and recent form suggests he could win on the Tour for a third consecutive year.
He comes off a T33 at the Genesis Invitational, though his best recent result came when finishing tied for sixth at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
If he plays anywhere near that level, the 23-year-old could justify his +1200 favoritism odds with betting online markets. We would have liked odds at around +1900, but he plays well at PGA National, so that counts for plenty.
“Obviously when I’m playing well I feel great, but when I have a bad round I feel down easily,” Im said after the Shriners’ win. “But it’s a repetition every week and I learn from each week, and from that experience, I’m learning to control my emotions and everything on the course to stay composed, and I think this week it all paid off.”
Im is also +350 for a top five finish at +180 for a top 10, which is well worth including on your Honda Classic betting tickets.
Pick: Sungjae Im (+1200)
Hossler Worth Including
Beau Hossler has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but the former University of Texas player is worth backing.
Hossler lost the 2018 Houston Open in a playoff to Ian Poulter and also made the cut at the U.S. Open (twice), The Open and PGA Championship.
Hossler didn’t play well Sunday at the Genesis Invitational, but he finished third at the AT&T Pebble Beach, behind Tom Hoge and Jordan Spieth. It was a terrific result that should give him confidence.
Bettors get astronomical odds for Hossler to win the Honda Classic. The 26-year-old is paying +11000, which makes our eyes bulge.
Playing well for four consecutive days is tough, but at those odds, we’re prepared to take the risk.
