Jon Rahm Justifying Odds for PGA Championship

We’re a week out from the PGA Championship at Southern Hills and now is a good time to lock in the early value.

Scottie Scheffler is the current +900 favorite due to his incredible season, but former world No. 1 Jon Rahm is another form golfer.

Rahm Rediscovering Form

Jon Rahm needed to show his best form at the Mexico Open and he didn’t disappoint with a quality win.

It was a much-needed triumph for the Spaniard, who was relieved to get the job done from start to finish.

“It feels good to get this first win done,” Rahm told CNN. “Early in the season I had a couple chances and I couldn’t close it out. Today was a battle but I got it done.

“My first wire-to-wire victory. Even though it was hard at the end I’ll take it.”

Rahm is currently on the second line of betting at +1100 and that’s a value price considering his recent win.

It wasn’t long ago when Rahm was dominating golf and he would be paying much shorter odds, so take the value for one of the game’s brightest stars.

Stunning Scheffler Commands Attention

Backing against the world’s best golfer is never smart, so we wouldn’t leave out Scheffler from our golf bets.

The American has been on a tear this season, including three wins and taking The Masters at Augusta.

It has been an incredible rise to fame for a guy who was struggling to win his first PGA Tour event. The rest is history as the PGA Championship favorite is a terrific chance to continue winning.

His practice rounds at Southern Hills have been fantastic according to practice round caddie Cameron Chhim.

“[Scheffler’s] No. 1 in the world and it was pretty easy to see why,” Chhim said. “It would be hard to say that he’s not going to win or at least be in contention. He hits it far enough and he has just incredible distance control with his irons.

“Ryan (Palmer) shot two or three under and looked like he was standing still based on how Scottie was playing.”

That’s a good sign for the hottest golfer on the planet and bettors get +900. It might be on the shorter side, but he’s still a value pick and betting online markets could take more action for him.

High Praise for Hideki

Hideki Matsuyama could go under the radar but he’s an excellent pick at the price.

The Japanese superstar, who won the 2021 Masters, played well at Augusta this year when finishing T14 behind Scheffler.

He has been battling through some injuries, but the 30-year-old plays best when the lights shine brightest. He is knocking on the door of another win and the +3300 odds are generous.

Matsuyama represents value at that price and we would have quoted him around +2200. Therefore, include the major winner to your golf selections as Southern Hills should suit him perfectly.
