Golf betting markets are available for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which kicks off on Thursday.

McIlroy Nearing Victory

Rory McIlroy has been making headlines for his comments about the Saudi Golf League, but he has been supported by the majority of tour pros.

The Northern Irishman said the league is “dead in the water” after the likes of Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson committed to the PGA Tour.

“I mean, there’s no one. It’s dead in the water in my opinion. I just can’t find any reason why anyone would go,” McIlroy told Sky Sports.

Despite a few weeks of being in the headlines, McIlroy is focused on making a deep run at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which he won in 2018.

McIlroy finished T10 at the Genesis Open two weeks ago and it followed a third -place finish at the Dubai Desert Classic.

The 32-year-old doesn’t have to improve much to win consistently on the PGA Tour and if he gets his putter rolling, this tournament could be his for the taking.

The sportsbook is offering +1400 for McIlroy to win his second Arnold Palmer title and we wouldn’t leave him off our tickets.

Hovland Continues Impressive Form

Hovland is one of the hottest golfers on the planet after winning the Dubai Desert Classic when beating the likes of McIlroy and Tyrrell Hatton.

The 24-year-old Norwegian backed it up with a T4 finish at the Genesis Invitational, so there aren’t many playing better.

He’s destined to win more PGA Tour events after collecting the Puerto Rico Open and the Mayakoba Classic twice. A big win on the tour is coming and he wants to play more in America.

“If I had my wish,” Hovland said, “I would just keep playing the PGA Tour. But we’ll see what happens.”

Betting online markets aren’t letting Hovland out of their sights at +2000. We think he should be paying around +1400, so bettors are getting value odds for the young stud.

Aussie Legends Could Fire

There aren’t many bigger names in Australian golf than Adam Scott and Jason Day, who are going through some rough times.

Day has struggled with injuries, which is why the former major contender is paying +8000 to win, but if his back is feeling good, he could be in contention.

It feels like a long time ago when Day was contesting the Masters on the final day on a consistent basis. His form since hasn’t been the same, but he’s still only 34 years old so there’s time.

Scott showed excellent improvement when finishing T4 at the Genesis Invitational. He shot the same score as Hovland, so bettors can’t overlook the performance.

He has recently switched putters, which has always been the determining factor between winning and losing. He has switched to L.A.B. Golf and has already seen improved results.

“I had experimented with their putters; in 2019, I used a shorter version of their original design for a few weeks on tour and I like the technology,” Scott said at Riviera Golf Club. “They’ve designed a new shaped head, which I think is more appealing than the old one, and the performance is good. Obviously, that’s why I’m using it. I like what it does for me.”

Scott is paying +8000 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational and this could be his week.

Stick with Si Woo

Si Woo Kim has had a busy time on the PGA Tour and the 26-year-old shouldn’t be overlooked.

His level of play hasn’t been as good as it once was, but the South Korean recorded a T11 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open in January, so that was a positive result.

He has recorded three top-20 finishes in the majors and he owns three PGA Tour wins, including the 2017 Players, so he’s classy at best.

His most recent win came at the 2021 American Express, so we’re sticking with him and the +8000 odds are well worth taking.
