Byron Nelson odds have Scottie Scheffler at +250 to win his first PGA Tour tournament since June last year, and he won’t get a better opportunity.
The world No. 1 is playing below his best, but it’s not an overly tough field and he’s looking to justify the short golf odds.

1. Scottie Scheffler (+250)
Following his last PGA Tour win in June, Scheffler won Olympic gold and the TOUR Championship, but they came against limited fields and he had a big advantage in the TOUR Championship.
It’s a concerning sign for the American, who was the talk of the town in 2024, but he’s not playing the best golf in the world. That’s Rory McIlroy, who could take his top ranking with a win at the PGA Championship later in May.
Golf betting lines are giving Scheffler every chance to win at +250, and although that’s short for a golfer, Scheffler has a sizable class advantage over a moderate field.
2. Nicolai Hojgaard (+6000)
My Byron Nelson picks include Nicolai Hojgaard, who finished second with his brother at the Zurich Classic last week.
I thought Nicolai hit better shots than his highly regarded brother, and bettors get +6000 for an upset win this week. He has enough ability to win on the PGA Tour, and I believe he’ll be one of the top 20 players in the world at some stage.
Hojgaard played himself into form last week, and that should translate to a good performance at the CJ Cup.
3. Si Woo Kim (+2700)
Si Woo Kim has been threatening to win a tournament this year, and my golf predictions expect a big showing from the South Korean.
He finished T8 at the RBC Heritage behind Justin Thomas two weeks ago. That was a good bounce back following two missed cuts, which isn’t normal for Kim, who is typically as consistent as they come.
He was the youngest-ever winner of The Players in 2017, and although his career hasn’t quite hit the same heights, the +2700 odds are worth taking for the Byron Nelson.
4. Jake Knapp (+4500)
Jake Knapp gets a mention in my golf betting picks. The smooth-swinging American has one of the purest swings on the PGA Tour, and it has already resulted in success.
He’s a PGA Tour winner and he played well at the Zurich Classic last week, which is a good sign. He played better than his partner, and had it been a solo tournament, he might have had a chance to win.
Bettors get +4500, which is hard to look past.
