The QBE Shootout is one of the more entertaining PGA Tour tournaments, which puts pairings against each other.
Headlining golf betting markets are Jason Day and Billy Horschel, who haven’t been in stellar form individually but could combine for the victory.
Also in the market are the experienced Harris English and Matt Kuchar, who are two-time QBE Tournament champions.
Let’s check the latest Golf odds, stats, injury reports, and Golf lines for QBE Shootout. We’ve plenty of Golf betting odds for you to consider.
Favorites Overdue for Victory
Day has struggled with injuries throughout his career, so we didn’t anticipate ever seeing him as the tournament favorite again. However, there is market confidence that he can get back into the winner’s circle at the QBE Championship.
The Australian won the Wells Fargo Championship in 2018 but he hasn’t won since. He teams up with Horschel, who has made headlines for his anti-LIV Tour comments this year.
It could be awkward given that this is Greg Norman’s tournament, but that might not stop the +450 sportsbook favorites. Market confidence is important when betting on golf and the Day/Horschel combination is classy enough to beat this field.
Despite Day having only two top-10 finishes in 2022, we’re putting them in our selections and it would be a long-overdue victory.
- Pick: Day/Horschel +450

Champions Back in Action
Kuchar and English are two-time QBE Shootout winners, so there is no reason to leave them out of selections.
The 2016 and 2020 champions aren’t performing at their peak as solo players on the PGA Tour, but in this format, that usually doesn’t matter too much.
The seasoned American team is listed at +550 with golf betting markets, which is a respectable price. We thought they would be around +500 as previous winners, so bettors get value odds.
Kuchar is one of the PGA Tour’s more consistent golfers. The smooth-swinging player loves team golf and his attitude in this format is a reason why he wins so often.
We expect them to get off to a fast start on Thursday and potentially lead all four days.
- Pick: Kuchar/English +550
Theegala Gets His Chance
Sahith Theegala has yet to win on the PGA Tour but the youngster is getting close and this could be his best chance.
Theegala has been close to breaking through, but the younger players often win in the lesser-known events, so this is right up his alley. He is paired with Tom Hoge, who won the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Theegala recently talked about the LIV Golf drama and he wishes to play against the best players in the world.
“The unfortunate thing is all the top players in the world aren’t playing together anymore,” Theegala told the Gold Channel. “Like we all want to play with Cam [Smith] and (Dustin Johnson) and those guys that are some of the best players in the world and there’s no denying that, so it’s unfortunate that the talent pool’s split a little bit, but I really never give it any thought other than when I’m asked questions about it.”
Bettors get excellent betting online odds for Theegala and Hoge. They are paying +600 to win and that’s worth including in selections.
Pick: Theegala/Hoge +600
