The Farmers Insurance Open is one of the biggest early-season PGA Tour tournaments and it’s headed by the likes of Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama and our top golf pick, Max Homa.

Farmers Insurance Open odds have Aberg at +800, so there are big expectations for the Swedish golfing superstar.
Top 3 Farmers Insurance Open Picks
1. Max Homa (+3000)
It has been almost two years since Homa won a PGA Tour event, which happened to be at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.
The six-time PGA Tour winner had a glory period of a couple of years, where he won five of his six tournaments. It has been a disappointing stretch since, but we saw signs of life at The Sentry, so we’re picking him to win.
🚨 Max Homa’s swing is looking 🔥 heading into 2025!
Things to watch:⁰✅ The rhythm—absolutely fantastic and consistent on every shot.⁰✅ Tempo—never changes, whether it’s a driver or wedge.⁰✅ Head position—rock solid and so steady throughout the entire swing. pic.twitter.com/1JbKIq0q6q— Lewis Atkinson ™️ (@LewisAtkinson79) January 9, 2025
We believe it’s only a matter of time before Homa wins his seventh tourney, and having winning form at the Farmers Insurance Open is better form than most. That’s not reflected with the latest golf odds, which have Homa at a healthy +3000 odds.
That’s a tough price to turn down for the American, who has recently switched brands to Cobra Golf, which could have a positive impact on his 2025 results.
2. Sahith Theegala (+2800)
Our golf predictions this week include Sahith Theegala, who didn’t play his best golf at the Sony Open, but he’s a quality player at his best.
The 27-year-old is only a one-time winner on the PGA Tour, but everyone knows he has another win coming. He’s too talented to not record a win in 2025. He didn’t win last year, but 2024 still had its highlight moments for Theegala.
He made the cut in three of the four majors, including a T12 at the PGA Championship. That is a good effort and he shouldn’t take long to get back to winning form.
There has been solid betting support for Theegala, who firmed into +2800. Bettors are right to include him in golf picks this week, and we’re not leaving him out.
3. Beau Hossler (+4500)
Following Beau Hossler on a weekly basis hasn’t been good for the wallet, but the former Texas player is good enough to win on the biggest stage.
He comes off a T12 performance at The American Express, and that is a great effort to start the year. He could have finished much closer had it not been for a final-round 70, but his opening-round 66 was excellent.
Playing well on the weekend has always been the hardest part for Hossler, which is why he’s yet to win. However, he has experience under his belt, and his natural ability is good enough to take him close.
We’re not surprised by the +4500 odds available. He always takes plenty of money, and he is typically a good top-20 bet, so include him in online bets.
