FedEx Cup Picks: Scheffler Best Bet in TOUR Championship
- For the second year running, Scottie Scheffler starts ahead of the pack in the TOUR Championship.

The FedEx Cup comes down to the final tournament this week, with 30 of the world’s best tee up at East Lake in Atlanta for the TOUR Championship.

Scottie Scheffler is the +110 favorite with TOUR Championship odds, and he’s hoping to cap off a massive year with a win.
Looking to run him down are the likes of Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama and Ludvig Aberg, who aren’t without a betting chance despite giving away shots to the best player in the world.
3 Picks to Win TOUR Championship
1. Scheffler (+110) to Seal Season with a Win
Scheffler has been critical of the way the FedEx Cup is won and lost, but he shouldn’t complain about starting this even ahead of the opposition.
If he can’t win the TOUR Championship starting at least two shots ahead of the next competitor, then he doesn’t deserve to be crowned the season-long winner.
Considering Schauffele has double the number of major wins in 2024, Scheffler shouldn’t complain too much about being the top-ranked golfer in the FedEx Cup.
“I talked about it the last few years. I think it’s silly,” Scheffler said. “You can’t call it a season-long race and have it come down to one tournament.
“Hypothetically, we get to East Lake and my neck flares up and it doesn’t heal the way it did at The Players. I finish 30th in the FedExCup because I had to withdraw from the last tournament? Is that really the season-long race? No. It is what it is.”
The world No. 1 is the best player in the field, and we’re happy to overlook his dreadful performance at the BMW Championship.
He finished near the tail of the field last week, but starting at -10 on Thursday should give him a boost, and he needs to overcome his failure to win the TOUR Championship in 2023.
Golf odds are right to have him at +110 considering the staggered start, and he should be too good for them from the outset.
2. Schauffele (+210) Would Be a Fitting Winner
We believe Schauffele has had a better year than Scheffler, and he could cap it off with a TOUR Championship victory.
With two major wins under his belt in 2024, including the PGA Championship and Open Championship, it has been a great year for the 30-year-old.
Schauffele has gone from a player who keeps finishing close to a player who wins, and that’s a guy we want to back this week.

Our BetUS sportsbook has Schauffele at +210 odds, and that’s because he starts only two shots behind Scheffler. That could be made up after the first hole of the tournament, so it’s not a massive setback.
He’s set for a massive pay day regardless of how he plays, but the honor of being crowned FedEx Cup champion would cap off his year.
As we saw last year with Viktor Hovland, starting in front isn’t everything, so we’re not leaving him out of our TOUR Championship picks.

3. Longshot Bet Aberg (+1800) Poised to Pounce
Ludvig Aberg has been one of the most consistent players in 2024, and although he hasn’t won as often as he would like, he is there to pounce.
The Swedish golfer looks to emulate fellow Scandinavian Hovland and come from behind to run down Scheffler.
Given how low he can shoot on a golf course, we’re not overlooking his chances at the excellent PGA Tour betting odds.
We priced him around +1200, so getting +1800 for a golfer of his promise is tough to overlook. He finished strongly at the BMW Championship last week and momentum is on his side.
It would be a great way to cap off his first full season on the PGA Tour, and he would quickly become the fresh face of the PGA.
