It’s all about Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, with the Americans headlining golf betting markets.
Scheffler is riding the wave of momentum after winning gold at the Olympics, but Schauffele looks to add to his two major titles in 2024.
The FedEx Cup Playoffs tee off in Memphis, Tenn.,and only 50 players survive to play in BMW Championship the following week.
3 Picks to Win FedEx St. Jude Championship
1. Schauffele Loving the Big Time
It has been a great 2024 for Schauffele after winning the PGA Championship and Open Championship.
He might not have defended his Olympic gold medal, but we’re not concerned when it comes to the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
The 30-year-old American is having an outstanding year, and if it wasn’t for Scheffler’s great year, he would be considered the best in the world.

Schauffele talked about sitting down with his dad as a teenager and mapping out goals, which have now been achieved.
“I sat down with my dad when I was maybe 15 and 16, and we started to really hash out some goals and dreams of what I’d like to do,” Schauffele said. “I was on the couch with my dad a lot watching other guys win majors and win big tournaments.”
Having gone from a player who keeps running second to a player who wins, Schauffele is easily good enough to be victorious in this tournament.
Bettors get +800 PGA golf odds for a player who is loving life, and we expect him to close the FedEx Cup gap on Scheffler.
2. Money Comes for Morikawa
There has been a strong betting move at our sportsbook for Collin Morikawa, who has been playing good golf without winning this year.
The six-time PGA Tour winner, including the 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 Open Championship, has class on his side.
He came close in the majors when finishing T3 at the Masters and T4 at the PGA Championship this year, so if there’s any player deserving a win, it’s Morikawa.
The 27-year-old comes off a T16 finish at the Open Championship before running 24th at the Olympics. He didn’t have his best finish in the final round in Paris, but he looked good over the first three rounds.
Money has come for him at +1200 and we would be surprised if he wasn’t near the top of the PGA Tour leaderboard on Sunday afternoon.

3. Value Odds for Hovland
It has been a tough time for Norway’s Viktor Hovland, but we’re counting on him to return to form during the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
He won the FedEx Cup last year with an incredible performance, and having that experience under his belt will help.
He tried to change his swing following his victory in the season-long series, which has led to poor results. However, it won’t take much for Hovland to get back to his best.
“Yeah, hasn’t been my best year,” Hovland said. “Struggled for basically the whole year. It’s been a little bit challenging.”
“I mean, it’s just not that fun to play golf when you don’t know where the ball is going.”
Despite his low confidence, we can’t turn down the St. Jude Championship odds available. He’s paying +3500 to win, so jump on the value odds.
He’s also a good top 10 bet at +270. We expect him to be good enough to be right around the top of the leaderboard and we’ve choosing to keep the faith with the defending FedEx Cup champion.
