Gooch to Mooch Saudi Money at LIV Tucson

Let’s Get the Party Started

The LIV golf tour heads to Tucson this weekend, where Cameron Smith tops golf lines at +900.

The party atmosphere has helped some players, including Charles Howell III, who scored a much-needed win at Mayakoba.

Talor Gooch could be the player to follow with golf odds this week.

American Overdue Win

Gooch is a one-time PGA Tour winner, but he’s still inside the top 50 in the world, so he has his spot at The Masters.

The American was one of the noted signings for LIV, but he hasn’t performed up to his high standards so far. However, we believe that changes in Tucson.

He showed better form at Mayakoba after leading with one round to go. He wasn’t able to hold on, but it should give him the confidence needed to win.

The former Oklahoma State University player won the 2021 RSM Classic, so it wasn’t long ago when he was beating the supposedly best players in the world on the PGA Tour.

A similar performance should see him winning over 54 holes, and the +1600 is a good price at the sportsbook.

Class Shines with Johnson

Dustin Johnson is the best golfer in the field and still one of the best golfers in the world.

The former world number one is not the favorite with golf odds, which is surprising, but bettors get excellent value.

He leads the 4 Aces team, which has had an incredible amount of success. He continues to count his money, but he’d love to score another solo title at LIV Tucson.

He recently stared in an episode of Full Swing and golf news reported his comments.

“The decision to join LIV finally just came down to the offer that they made me,” Johnson said in the episode. “For me, it was playing less, making more money. Pretty simple. If someone offered anyone a job, doing the same thing they’re already doing, but less time at the office and they’re going to pay them more, pretty sure you’re going to take it. And something is wrong with you if you didn’t.”

Leaving Johnson out of calculations would be a mistake. He’s paying +1000 to win and the 4 Aces are +350 to win the team event, which is also worth locking in with sport betting markets.

  • Pick: Dustin Johnson +1000

Keeping the Koepka Faith

Brooks Koepka is nowhere near his best, but we can’t turn down the +3000, so we’re including him in our golf picks.

The four-time major winner still has plenty to give on the golf course, and despite some niggling injuries, he could surprise a few at Tucson.

He has yet to win on the LIV Tour, but the 32-year-old should be eyeing a win in 2023. He has one of the bigger ego in golf, so he’ll be wanting to make an impression sooner rather than later.

Chasing majors is still in the forefront of his mind, despite slipping outside of the top 100.

Nothing quite feels the same, the majors are so different. It’s the pinnacle of our sport, it’s what you’re judged by,” Koepka said.

“If you look at all the greats that have ever played this game, most people can’t tell you how many PGA Tour events or how many European Tour events this person’s won or that person’s won, but they know exactly how many majors you’ve won.”

He’s a risky wager, but the odds are just too good to ignore.

  • Pick: Brooks Koepka +3000
